About
“Come on kids, there’s lots to see and do. Your adventure is just beginning!” Bet you’ve never heard a goat yodel or a potato talk, but you will at Sundown Market, and with your help all the animals in the musical pet shop will join in the chorus of their very own song. Explore the Rodeo Corral Indoor Play Area and climb aboard the Rocky Mountain Railroad, but hold onto your hats folks, those pesky bandits are popping up everywhere. Be careful not to wake the dragon as you enter the Lollipoppet castle with all its smells of candy. Then its on to the Tractor Ride for a trip around the countryside before talking to the animals on our Animated Farm. Grab those bows and arrows and climb aboard the Robin Hood Ride to join Robin and his merry men as they travel through Sherwood Forest. Then its onto Crash Landings – our fantastic four storey indoor play area and cafe, climb and explore the jungle where you may get a surprise from a cheeky monkey or a slippery snake. Run, swing and play in our bright and colourful Angry Birds Activity Park. Take a spin on the Okie Yolkie ride and bounce along on the Giddy Piggies ride. Don’t Forget to sing and dance along with the Monkeys at Monkey Mischief. Ahoy there! Time to take to the Jolly Pirate Ride – but you better watch out, for who knows were those wicked pirates are lying in wait with a surprise or two! Don’t forget your buckets and spades – you’ll need them in Captain Sandy’s Play Cove. But no one can be scared of the delightful little friends whose lovely scenes lead us through the seasons on to the magical Sleigh Ride through Santa’s traditional winter wonderland, hey, what's that reindeer doing in bed?! when your ready for a break, take the kids for a snack or a treat in one of our cafes or shops where there are lots of goodies available. Also don’t forget, we’re open at Christmas, so come along and ride our fantastic night before Christmas ride before visiting Santa in his Lovely home and receive a free gift for all children aged 2 to 10 years .

- Lisa MNottingham, United Kingdom261 contributionsAmazing Christmas experience 🎅WOW…… visited here for the Christmas experience and it can not be faulted. Staff are all AMAZING and very friendly and helpful. The whole Santa experience was great and Santa was absolutely brilliant. The whole park it’s self is well maintained and looked after with so much to see and do. There are plenty of places to get snacks, main meals, drinks all reasonably priced. This place is a great place for families who want to enjoy a great fun day out with lots to see and do. Well done sundown adventure land you are doing a great job 😊Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2022
- lee aSheffield, United Kingdom690 contributionsKids loved itWent to see Santa with our grandchild and another family meet up with a cousin, etc. not cheap but worth it for a great day out and yes some of the attractions are dated but strangely funny. We also had food in the cafe with a chip butty costing £3, a jacket potato with tuna at £4.50 and childrens chicken nugget and chips at £4.50. Well organised event with plentiful parking.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 7 January 2023
- Resort4620341 contributionCouldn’t be more idyllic for a toddlerI never leave a review for anything ever but just had to on this occasion. Can’t explain what a magical place this was for my toddler. He’s 2 and a half and I’ve ever known a place so perfectly aimed at his age group. There wasn’t one ride or attraction that was too old for him or too scary etc. it’s literally Disneyland but for toddlers. we stayed in wildacre village too and my little one was so happy and excited with the set up the entire time. Even the soft play there was better than any other we’ve ever been to before. Food was fab - loads of choice and variety. A couple of nights we had food in our squirrel pod that I’d bought from home as well so we had the best of everything really. I’ve been Googling good places to take a toddler too and nothing seems to compare to sundown - think we’ll be back later in the year it seems. Really pleased. Thank you!Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 February 2023
- Barry M12 contributionsSundown a bit rundown? We visited on 14th of feb for our first visit to celebrate our daughters 1st birthday along with our 3 year old. The park is great for children upto 10 and lots to see and do with rides and playgrounds. The overriding feeling however is that it all needs a good lick of paint and some tlc, it felt a bit run down and at nearly £60 for a family of 3 it's certainly not cheap. The rides that are there are good and the little ones loved them. The indoor play areas are good but very crowded and with pushchairs everywhere it's difficult to move around. Lastly I wanted to mention a member of staff called Tristan who was on the flying pig ride, he was super friendly and chatting to the children and generally making everyone cheerful. Good work by him. Overall worth the visit but try and look for deals to soften the blow of ticket prices.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 February 2023
- Trip303452Doncaster, United Kingdom21 contributionsNice day outWe took our daughter here for her first birthday and we had a great day. She was able to go on majority of the rides either sat at the side of us or on our knee. The park is clean and tidy. I have been visiting since I was a kid and it does sort of take you back in time when you go although they have expanded the park over the years. Areas of the park could do with a bit of tlc such as a coat of paint. The outdoor play areas look fun but our daughter was a bit young for these but she did enjoy the swings. There is an indoor play area too but we didn’t use it. A couple of the rides were not in use when we visited. All the staff were friendly. All in all a good day out and we will visit again.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 March 2023
- ABoysDayOut1 contributionAmazing trip to Sundown Adventureland and Wild Acre Village - can’t wait to go againWe visited Sundown Adventureland this weekend and we had an amazing time! We also stayed in the Wild Acre Village which made the boys feel like a VIP with your own gated entrance! 🛝We spent the opening hours in the theme park, on the rides and parks and then after it closed, went to Crash landings for tea. It’s absolutely huge, with lots for babies, toddlers and older children. The kids went off and played safely, no hustle and bustle, and we all had some tea 🤩The lodges are AMAZING, the best lodge we have stayed in. It was spotless, with all new appliances, cutlery, pots pans, microwave, utensils and even has a tv with Netflix on! There’s towels and the beds are made, soap, biscuits, tea/coffee there when you arrive 🦉The lodges are decorated with woodland animals on the walls, lot of time and love has gone into making Wild Acre Village a family friendly space, where cars park near the entrance rather by lodges, there’s a big park for the kids to play, it has its own reception and shop selling toys/books/food and drinks 🐇 🫧Our lodge had a hot tub !!! The staff were cleaning and filling it up as we arrived. We went in several times and even all had a 9pm dip! It was so nice and warm, the kids loved it as much as we did 😁 📞There’s a takeaway menu which you can get delivered to your lodge - the food was really good. We were impressed with the variety at breakfast, dinner and tea ❣️Sundown Adventureland is fabulous for our boys, they were both the perfect age for it and were entertained from the start to finish of the trip 🎄The rides are brilliant (our 2 year old went on everything except the drive school where they need to be 3). 🛝The parks are excellent, with lots of different equipment for the children to play with. There’s parks everywhere! Really well designed and there’s several parks to go on, all different themes. Again great for my 2 and 6 year old, plenty for them both to do 📚Everywhere we looked, there was something to entertain the boys. It’s very sensory, with buttons to press which activate something! There’s lots of little houses for them to explore in Storybook village, all fairytales. Inside each is buttons to press for the story to be read. As you walk around, literally at every turn there’s something else to climb in, something musical and entertaining for them. Ours love the outdoors and exploring and sundown is a great place for that 🤠The Wild West area was brilliant, with a train ride, buildings go explore, horses to climb on, shooting games 🪑There’s seating everywhere, so if you bring a packed lunch or just want to relax, you will have plenty options for where to sit The staff are so nice and friendly, making effort with the kids. They spent time chatting to us about their Christmas experience and all the events they have on over the year Thanks for a great trip. We highly recommend and we can’t wait to visit again! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 March 2023
- Victoria W2 contributionsAbsolutely love it!I can’t rate this place highly enough. I’ve been bringing my children for many years and now returning with with grandchildren. The park remains and has always been competitively priced. It’s clear that money is constantly being reinvested as there always seems to be a new ride or attraction. The grounds, bathrooms, picnic areas are all immaculate. All the ride attendants were so friendly and ready to help.Visited April 2023Written 4 April 2023
- mrsflightEast Grinstead, United Kingdom228 contributionsPerfect day outA fantastic day out with my kids (age 5 and 7). Very well kept park, looks almost new, clean toilets and friendly helpful staff. Very reasonable price for what you get. Was an off peak day so rides were on at different times, but we managed to do them all. The kids really loved it and would visit again and again if we lived close enough! It was quite quiet, which was perfect for us. Well worth a visit!Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 May 2023
- fjore93Thatcham, United Kingdom25 contributions10 stars out of 5 :)This place its amazing. A must to visit with young kids. The person that designed this place was a genious. I have never enjoyed a day out with kids so much. Sooo much to do and see. Rides, 2 huge soft plays, soooo many little houses to get inside and see, so many outdoor play area. Just wonderful.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 May 2023
- Jemima xDoncaster, United Kingdom194 contributionsPerfect for toddlers. This place is brilliant for toddlers. You can see it’s a bit dated however the kids see past this. My youngest was in absolute kiddy heaven running around and hopping on and off all the rides. The weather turned a bit during our visit so we ended up in one of the indoor play area cafes (which was equally as exciting for the litlun). The staff were friendly. I will definitely return during the summer months.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 May 2023

We went with extended family main to see Santa. The play areas are big and well maintained. They follow different themes too so there is always something different. You could easily spend hours letting the kids go nuts in the various play areas. There are lots of interesting walk-through attractions, and several nice places to eat.
There are several rides which are good fun, the carriages are designed to put the children in the front so they get the best experience.
Our main reason for coming was to visit Santa. We had to rearrange several times and the staff were really helpful and accommodating every time. Throughout the park the staff are really nice and helpful.
To see santa, we had to get on a little ride that took us through various christmas scenes. It was a great way to get the kids in the festive mood. At the end of the ride we queued to get into santa's house. Santa's house has a big red door which is opened by elves to let families in. The attention to detail of the scenery was outstanding, as it was throughout the whole park. The santa was very kind, and really acted the part. He was, by far, the best santa I've ever seen and I'm so pleased it was my daughters first experience of it. He was brilliant at making the children feel at ease, and they both loved the little toys they got.
We will absolutely be coming back, both in the summer and again next year to see Santa. One of the best days out we've all had in a long time.

Visited with my husband and son.
What a delight for all your senses! Soo much time, effort and imagination has gone into this place. You could easily spend a whole day here and still not see everything.
My son absolutely loved it. It's a shame that the first half of the day it was raining. Definitely better when the sun's out. Staff are nice and polite. We want to come back but didn't think we could too often because to us it's quite expensive. Another customer told me about the annual pass which would save us money so hopefully we can get that.
We especially liked the sweety area and the sweet fragrance that's blown around in there!
My only criticisms are that it's looking a bit tired and run down. Parts broken and lots of paint peeling off. And some parts are definitely not wheelchair accessible although it may look like it. You may have an easier time if you have an electric wheelchair.
Can't wait to come back!!

We had an amazing day out at Sundown whilst visiting the area on holiday. Plenty for children of all ages to do and great for all weathers with undercover picnic areas and 2 soft plays. We was there for 6 hours and could of easily have spent longer.
Everywhere was tidy, clean and well maintained.
Would love to come back if we was ever in the area again.

Such a lovely little place, I had never heard of it before, we booked one of the lodges for 4 nights, the lodge was lovely, small but clean, shower was great, small bath perfect for kids, we had a hot tub that was lovely, the bed…. Wow the comfiest bed I’ve ever had on a trip away, even better than mine at home!!! Kitchen was well equipped, the ground of the lodges were very well maintained and the little park was lovely, the reception team were super friendly and helpful, the shop was great for little bits you may need, the nearest big super market is a good 15 mins car drive away, we had free access to the park the whole time we were there which was great, we went back and forth as we pleased, we could eat back at the lodge if we wanted as this was a few minute walk away from sundown and we had late night access to the soft play area which we did ever night, sundown is a lovely little treasure of a place, it could do with an uplift but I think this is why I liked it so much, it was like stepping back in time, lots of role play for kids and lots of interaction, not many rides, soft play was good, sandpit was great and the outside play areas were good and lots of them, we definitely struggled to spend 4 days here, you could easily explore it all in 1 day, rides were active at different times, this was probably as its off peak but we were given a list of times each ride was operating,
staff in sundown I hate to say were soooo rude, it’s like they are bored and hate there job, not one person has a smile or even interacted with the children, they looked lifeless!! Sad as this is letting the park down, gift shop was good and not over priced like most places I’ve been, a lot of bits were closed for refurb, I know they have a Christmas thing going on soon so that’s probably why, we are lucky that out half term is not the same as anywhere else so we literally had the park to ourselves, I think the free access when you book a lodge is great, I know it’s only for 2022/2023 but I think this should be part of it, this isn’t a place you can come for a holiday as there is nothing around to do, it makes it appealing that you have access to sundown, I wouldn’t pay to go there if I was staying in a lodge as a family of 5 it would be between £70-£90 depending on the time of year, this every day and also the price of the lodge would means it well over £1000 holiday for 4 nights which is just not worth it, I hope they continue to do the free passes as I think they will be busy and have a great little business, we wouldn’t come back as we have explored it all and our children are at an age now where they wouldn’t want to come back; but we had a fab few days away, thanks sundown

We enjoyed Sundown more than we expected to! We brought our daughter here just before her third birthday for a special day out and she loved it. Her highlight was definitely the Giddy Piggies which I think we went on about 10 times, as well as the teacups (Olkie Yolkie), Ostrich Safari and the Tractor Ride. There are so many different play areas - The Angry Birds & Fort Apache were our favourites. There is a good indoor soft play area where you can buy lunch and food and drinks are reasonably priced. Just a side note, the rides aren't open all of the time, they have time slots i.e. Giddy Piggies will open 10-11 then close again for an hour then open again etc etc and the other rides operate in a similar way. If you go on the water ride, beware of sneaky bits ready to squirt you as you go round! Lots of fun though. We also enjoyed the Story Book Village - very nostalgic and our daughter, who is just starting to learn all the fairytales, really loved seeing the characters come to life. Highly recommend this place for toddlers.

We stayed at Wild Acre Village for 2 nights and enjoyed our visit.
'Crash Landings' really made the stay for us, a whole afternoon of torrential rain when we arrived was spent in the soft play and our 2year old absolutely loved it, I think it's the biggest soft play he's ever been to!
A full day around the park the following day was great. So many places to explore and then we had a great meal in 'Crash Landings' in the evening.
All the staff we encountered throughout the day were brilliant but a special mention has to go to the cooks, Bev and Jody, and the front of house staff, Janet and Stewart, in Crash Landings. The food was brilliant and the service was great. Thank you to all for making our stay that little bit better (and it was already great!!). Our 2 year old loved the 'nice man' and the 'nice lady' as he affectionately called them!
We will definitely be back.

We stayed in a lodge which was lovely, well equipped for our two night stay.
The theme park was fairly quiet so both little and 'big kids' had a ball.
Had an excellent meal in Crash landings cooked by Bev and Jody. The front of house staff Janet and Stewart were brilliant. We will be back.

What a great place for children. Our 10 year old had a fantastic time. So much to do and once inside everything is free. Spent whole day there. Would definitely return if in the area again with children. Very very good for the price.

We brought our 18month old here last weekend and we all loved it. The rides, the playgrounds, the food.. you name it we loved it! The Christmas ride is something else, our daughter was mesmerised so we had to do it twice (yess Christmas is ages away but who cares!) We already want to come back at Christmas as I feel it would be even more magical (if thats possible?) Thank you for the most wonderful family day, would recommend to anyone with small children. I can’t wait to come back

Thank you :)

Hi, can over 10s join in with the younger ones?

Absolutely! One of the reasons why I enjoyed it so much was that I was able to interact and participate in most of the activities with my 3/4 year old but it is slightly run down in areas. If you go with an open mind and don’t look too much into it you have a fancy day out. My advise, Take a picnic and stay away from the Soft Play areas.

Hi is Sundown for younger kids? I've got an 8 year old daughter who likes star wars and harry potter.
Michael H
Pontefract, UK391 contributions
It’s mainly for under 8s so probably not that interesting if it’s big rides and adventure rides you’re looking for. It’s a more relaxed family park lots of space to run around and go on the climbing frames etc as well as the rides and attractions.
