I am a complete novice and chose to have a private surfing lesson in Famara. Mariano, my teacher from Red Star Surf, was very expert and very laid back. The pop-up technique he taught me was great for me, since I am 58 and although quite fit I am not as agile as I once was. I was standing up within an hour! I used the techniques he taught me the next day on a slightly shorter but wider board and felt completely confident as I caught several waves in a row. My husband, who has already done a lot of surfing, had an all-day lesson with another school, in a large group. I felt that at my skill level I definitely had better value for money from my 1:1 lesson.…

First time surfing. Took 5 days lessons and I was totally satisfied. Mariano, Jerry and Dominic were great instructors and made the learning experience not only easy but quite fun. Will come back next year

Amazing experience after 5 days surfing with redstar team. Mariano, Gerry, Dominique were very attentive, provided lots of explanations, valuable tips. We felt we really progressed and started to take nice waves. Thank you, guys!

I took one lesson to get in touch with the surfing and i couldn't imagine a better place than red star surfing.
