The said fort has highly recognized history being the capital of Vakatas. Local civilians and government needed to come forward to save this monument.

Nagardhan fort is located at 40 km from Nagpur. It was known to be the first capital of the Vakatakas. The fort was built by Raje Raghuji Bhonsle. The inner structures of the fort are in damaged condition and needs good maintenance.

It is about 40 - 60 km from Nagpur depending upon which road you take. There are sign boards by MTDC which will take you through villages like Hiwra from Mansar - avoid it. The best is to take Nagpur Jabalpur Highway. Take right turn...More
