Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took the ferry from Mykonos Port to Paros. Many people already present in the spring. Reasonably equipped in terms of amenities. You can buy a drink and snack there. Quite spacious too. We mainly waited because the ferry was delayed. There should be more and clearer information (i.e., large signs such as at an airport) about the departure times and arrivals of ferries, as well as indications where exactly you must wait or board as a visitor. There is little protection from the sun. The arrival/departure of the ferry is somewhat chaotic. Many people want to get on and off the ferry at the same time. There are port officers who try to organize the people, but there was still a lot of confusion about who had to go which way. Overall, the embarkment went smoothly, especially on the high-speed ferry. We recommend being at the port at least 30 minutes in advance. When many ferries and cruise ships depart at the same time, traffic jams can arise on the way to the port. Provide this in your travel planning and do not leave at the last minute from your hotel to the port.

Do not confuse this port with the Old Port that is in downtown. It does not have anything special worth of sightseeing. It is like any port. It could not be considered a tourist site but a transit port. And, it is literally in the middle of nowhere. At the port there is little public transport and taxis are very few, for the large number of people who gather in high season when the ferries arrive, so the lines are eternal and you can easily spend a couple of hours waiting for a taxi. It is the port from which the ferries depart, it does not have the capacity to accommodate so many people. There is a small waiting room but if it is full you can use "Your suitcase" as a seat. With a lot of movement in and out of the ferries and some cruises, there is also a large area for yachts and sailboats. The new port is where ferries transit to the different islands, they also take you where the cruises are. It is very well located with easy access on buses or on foot. It has a beautiful boulevard to walk from above

There are two ports in Mykonos - Old Port and New Port. This is important to know if you are catching a ferry because you don’t want to end up at the wrong one.
This entry should probably be listed as ‘Mykonos New Port’ to make that clearer. There’s another separate entry for ‘Old Port’.
New Port is a working port. All of the commercial ferries, seajets and cruise ships now operate out of here.
Although it’s reasonably well organised and is easy to get around, it has no particular charm and there’s no reason to linger here. This is for transit only and there’s nothing much to see.
We got off our ferry and headed straight out to our accommodation. It’s a bit chaotic once the ferries arrive so we pre-arranged a pick up with your hotel. We were staying nearby, near Mykonos town, so a private transfer wasn’t terribly expensive (€20 for both of us, including luggage).
Taxis are next to useless because there’s so few of them on Mykonos. There are buses which are considerably cheaper (€2 pp) but a private car certainly made life a lot easier when we first arrived.
Old Port is located in the heart of the old town. It’s not that far away from New Port (about 2km). It’s possible to walk between the two although I wouldn’t try it myself. Even if I had no luggage, the walk would be unpleasant as its almost entirely along a busy road with no footpath or pavement and would take just under an hour.
TIP: It is worth noting that although the commercial ferries operate out of New Port, the tour boats to the archaeological island of Delos, operate from the Old Port.

This port is bustling because of the popularity of the island. We arrived from seajet from Piraeus, Athens. There are a lot of private transportation companies who try to get you from the moment you get off the ferry. There was a taxi line, but we waited over forty minutes, and none came. We made an error; we should have booked our transfer from Mykonos Port with the hotel we were staying at. We had no choice but to get a private transfer; they picked up another lady and charged us sixty euros for less than a thirty-minute ride. The most unpleasant part of our trip was the taxi drivers or private transfer; they tried to rip us off. Best advice, if you booked a hotel, ask them to arrange a pick up at this busy port.

While Mykonos old port is in the very center it lost it's main purpose and is now dotted with numerous overpriced bars and restaurants, this new port serves as a transportation hub. Otherwise you have nothing to do here.
It is located some 5 km north of town and you can reach it by taxi or take the more economic and scenic Seabus.
All ferries arrive/depart from here, as well the cruisers. Free wifi and small cafeteria.

This area is well worth a visit as it has a wide walking area, little traffic and the setting is lovely. It is a nice area to stop, sit, have a drink, or maybe a meal, and watch the world go by.
People often come to the area to people watch as well as watching the boats come and go as the Sea Bus terminal is at one end, as is the starting and finishing points for the boat trip over to the ruins on Delos.

This is where the big ferries stop. It's a big space with some places to sit and a modern cafe, but not especially pretty. Huge line of people waiting in the hot sun for the bus which arrives infrequently. No cabs because there aren't any. Hopefully your hotel will be able to pick you up otherwise you are out of luck.

We caught our Sea Jets from Mykonos to Paros. The ticket said to arrive an hour early, which we did, and seemed unnecessary. There was limited shaded seating and limited food options (coffee, poor quality sanwiches).
There was no information board about the departure times or quay for each boat and no visible attendees to ask. Our ferry SuperRunnerJet2 was half an hour late to arrive and an hour late to leave, and we had no way of knowing apart from the tannoy announcement.
This could be so much better.

My wife and I arrived on a ferry from Santorini at the Mykonos port. It is a good distance from the main part of Mykonos. We were able to get an Uber at a reasonable price. The port is busy with ferries and cruise ships. You may want to prearrange a pickup at the port upon your arrival.

Busy port, you will need it if you are taking a ferry anywhere. For some reason the ferry operators tell you to be there 60 min before - rubbish! Just be there 15 min before your ferry time, they won’t come early
