This is a beautiful place to take pictures and enjoy the sunset. It gets very crowded so be patient if you want to get a good picture, and be patient with the wind also, is very strong.

As you walked south along the sea front and then up a hill you come to see these set of 4 windmills which felt out of place on the back drop of Greecian architecture of small stone and whitewash building that dotted the landscape. It was... More

The windmills are a sight to see in Mykonos. Though most are privately owned, one is a business which you can go into. The best view is from the shore.

The quintessential features of Mykonos landscape, windmills can be seen irrespective of the locale. They are primarily concentrated in the neighbourhood of Chora and some are also located in and around Alevkantra. These innovative wheels were primarily used for crushing agricultural yields. In all there were 16 such windmills in operation. They are conspicuous by their snow-white colour, spherical shape... More

Take your required photos of the windmills but don't expect anything but windblown selfies. There is a reason these windmills sit on this ridge.

Walked into town from the cruise ship dock (generally little in the way of a footpath so some traffic dodging needed) and spent an enjoyable time wending our way through the whitewashed alleys and narrow streets. Climbed to the higher parts of town to enjoy the views before heading for the windmills and sea front. The row of windmills are... More

This is a resort island which has 31 cabs for the entire island. The port area is large enough to handle a cruise ship along with a couple Ferry Boats. From the cruise terminal one can go to downtown Mykonos either by water taxi: 2 Euros per person per direction, or via free bus rides courtesy of the Cruise line.... More
