Small but impressive

Many coins, artifacts and statuary from ancient Greece and also Roman remains. It is a small museum, cheap entry fee and much to see.

When visiting this proud country, that has (in a real sense) been 'brought to it knees' by years of economic mismanagement and unsympathetic foreign demands for reform is upsetting in of itself, without seeing the unemployment rates raising and the levels of poverty growing. Within this backdrop, government projects have been shelved, mothballed or simply left to rot as successive... More

Well what can I say. Made my way to the location of the museum just down from the fort. Their on the gates is a sign saying closed for referb update.

you buy the museum pass which includes the archaeology museum. you would think they would mention that it was closed and has been for some time, especially since it is quite a walk to get to it. Another black mark for Greece

Despite being shown as open on various Corfiot websites this is definitely still closed. Disappointed as we came last year too and were told it was opening May 2015. Good news is that it clearly has made progress so we're hoping for third time lucky when we next visit Corfu!

Several people we met made the journey to this museum only to find it closed. Some people had the same experience last year. There is no readable explanation and the site looks tired and a bit desolate. Someone in the local government needs a good kick for this let down. It is supposed to be a major site but hey,... More

I was hoping to visit the museum but it was still shut at the time of my visit in early May 2015- I would've hoped that it would be open for the start of the new season but it isn't. If you intend to visit then check first whether or not it's open- it didn't look to me like it... More

This museum has been closed for several years now, when I came here a couple of years ago it was supposed to be reopening this year, but I went along only to find it very much closed still and still resembling a building site. I spoke to a man on site and asked when it would be reopening and he... More

I visited some years ago and it was a very nice archaeological museum with lot's of parts from a temple in Corfu. Other people should stop giving it negative votes because it's closed for renovation. It doesn't make sense... to dislike something because it's been renovated.

I don't know what museum the previous two reviews went to but this museum is still closed until 2015. Because of the two reviews we decided to go 12th June 2014 thinking it had reopened but it hadn't, it's down to its bare skeleton of a building! Shame, I'm sure it would have been a good afternoon out.
