Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This small harbour is located in Kanoni on the Chalkiopoulos (Χαλκιοπουλοσ) Lagoon. It is about 4 kilometres from Corfu Town and literally at the end of Corfu Airport runway and by the Causeway.
It was on Monday 30th August that we visited here to see the Vlacherna Monastery of Panayia.
We parked up in the car park nearby and we walked along lagoon edge where this harbour is situated.
There was a mixture of fishing boats and small boats offering tours to the nearby Mouse Island for €2.50.
On it's own the harbour is rather unexceptional, however, combined with the Monestary, the Lagoon, the causeway and the aircraft flying overhead, it is a great place to visit.

Harbour’s located at the end of Corfu airport runway and is home to a few small fishing boats, a boat hire company and the Mouse Island ferry service. There’s also a restaurant, small monastery and a large car park. An ideal place to plane watch and you can even stand on the causeway and experience them flying directly overhead to land.

It was just a short, if steep walk down from our hotel to the harbour. The planes landing almost overhead weren't as intrusive as I expected and in between the airport action the harbour was a little haven of peace. One side of the quay led to the very photogenic Vlacherna Monastery church and another featured small fishing boats. I also caught the Mouse Island ferry from here, and you can hire a boat privately, too.

While coach tours inevitably descend on the delicious viewpoint above the harbour, if you have the time, it is worth walking down to the small harbour with its hire-boats and ferries to Mouse Island, plus the photogenic monastery chapel. Even if you don't like planes, the occasional jet landing on the adjacent airport runway is actually quite fun to watch!
