Don't be afraid to drive all the way up to the lake- café at the end. Lovely scenery with the most beautiful / prettiest cows ever. Great walks.

The road from Covadonga is very good and enjoyable for those, who like driving or biking. Great views to valley from a few viewpoints. Parkings and information in the lake area very well organized, nice cliean. Great place to come for day or half day. Easy walks around the lakes and to surrounding sheep/goat/cow-pastures and seasonal pasture settlements. In end... More

We visited the lakes at the end of October, and was an excellent time to visit as the drive up the windy road is half the fun, including having to stop for passing herds of sheep and cows! No crowds, and was able to park at the top carpark. Don't forget to visit the mine while here.

Very winding narrow road. The view at the top is terrific. It is probably best to do the drive in the

I agree with the other review that the view of the lakes and surrounding area was worth the drive. It's not a long drive but there are a lot of curves. The lakes are very pretty and the hike around the 2 lakes took a few hours. It was rocky in places but worth it. The cows are hilarious! I... More

E arrived in a partly cloudy day. The way was amazing and vlear. But on the way to the lake the sky covered and rain started and visibility dropped to below 100 meters. Specracular view when sky cleared It was worth every moment of the trip to reach the lake and see the views. So calm and peacefull. It is... More

If you're hungry, visit the small bar on the left before you reach the carpark. It is less busy than the one at the car park and served lovely food.

For those who just want to get out of the city and be outdoors: The lake and the mountains surrounding it are beautiful. The scenery here is excellent and it is a great place for people to explore and experience nature. It is easily accessible and there are clearly marked walking areas. There are many bus options to take tourists... More

Don't be put off by the narrow, winding roads up to the lakes. The scenery and fauna along the way is well worth it. Beautiful lakes set among majestic mountains and breath-taking views.

The lake is set down in a dip between the mountains. There are great views on the road up and in the area. A good place to start and end walks. The Picos de Europa are a little known area to Brits yet they are fantastic. Give the area a try. You'll not be disappointed.
