This is not really a review of the beach, but of the town itself. Unfortunately it's not possible to review the town, so I'll do it unde rthe beach headline and hope the right people find my review anyway. Many many tourists know Bayhibe as the port where they start their tour to Saona Island. What a pity. We did... More

People so friendly, try to speak Spanish, even if just hello. They no your a tourist and some of the locals may try to sell you some holiday gifts, just a respectable no with a smile and they will except your decision.

The best excursion ever! Worth every penny. Great food, awesome catamaran trip, and relaxing time on the beach. We met some great people that day as well. Our guide (which I wish I could remember his name) treated us all like family. Out of the 3 excursions we did this was our favorite. Zip lining was fun as well. That... More

The public beach itself is rather small and pressed between resort beaches. Tends to be crowded and was visibly dirty. When you accidentally wonder into a resort beach guards will not force you out but unpleasant interest can be felt. Some nice waves can be found here (but just for in-water fun). If weather permits you can observe beautiful sunsets... More

Drawn by the lure of the 'best snorkeling in the DR' (souce: current edition of Lonely Planet) we drove our hire car down here on the way back from a trip from Bavaro to the spectacular Cueva de la Maravillas. Turns out you can't just snorkel, you have to hire a boat and guide. Anyway we chilled on the beach... More

The Bayahibe residents who work in the shops in the public beach were so friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my phone and they sat with me and helped until I found my friend. Look for Tito at the shops!

This beach was not a bad Beach but we did notice there some parts of the beach that will blocked off I don't know if they were making some changes or construction or what it was a bit of an eyesore on one particular side of the beach but the resort itself was great it was amazing it was beautiful... White sand and blue waters but also not properly developed. Couldn't find a shower to rinse off and the available chairs were to be hired by locals that picked up a fight who saw us first. They asked 500pesos for 2 chairs and an umbrella, all items had seen better days. Moreover, there are limited options for lunch. The beach... More
