Awesome for nature lovers, there is also a guided tour that costs 10 euros (additional cost next to the 10 euros entrance fee) and you get a suit and boots so you can cross the water and see the entire gorge. The beach is peaceful...More

If nature wonders are your thing, you can't miss this one! Crystal clear cold water, mighty basalt formation, unique and stunning. Bit crowded when we got there but the Municipal Steps were easily reached from the car park, don't pay for the lift if you...More

13 euros for a ride in a silly botanical and geological park and the use of an elevator? Too expencive!! The canyon is very beautiful but with an intense human intervention. Has lost its physical identity.

I really don't have right words to explain my beautiful experience on this river so just look at the pictures. Like the people say: "One picture, thousand words." My warm recommendation for this cold gem of nature beauty.

The Alcantara Gorge provides a spectacular insight into a volcanic past. The rock formations are memorable - folded basalt column (apologies to all geologists!) - sliced into by crystal clear waters. It is well worth taking swimming attire and going past the first bends to...More

We enjoyed several good walks along the fast-flowing river away from the "tourist trap" of the Gole (which when we tried to visit was full of coaches and there was almost nowhere to park). The Gurne which is close to the road from Francovilla to...More

When you arrive at the parking lot don't pay 13 € at the private entrance, but look for the public staircase (just 100 m far), it's only 1 € for about the same services. Very recommended the body rafting, ask for "Ciccio" very kind and...More

Though we knew that you do not have to pay anything to see the gore, we still felt safer to join a guide. With the guide we could do a bit more but not too much because of the hired apparell. For free one could...More
