We drove around the town prior to going to the Ourem castle and then stopped in town and walked around when we returned from the castle. Perhaps we didn't enjoy it as much as we could have since we were recovering from our harrowing trip...More

A delightful walled town with very limited vehicle access. Stayed in the Pousada ( recommended). The town is overlooked by a solid but ruined castle ~ spectacular views

Beautiful little town perched on top of the hill, with stunning views over the surrounding country side, very narrow streets with very little parking but well worth the effort. A very nice information centre/art gallery is situated near the Pousada.
