We visited the church on 2 occasions and were the only people there. A real oasis of tranquility. So nice to experience the beauty and peace of the church without a crowd. It has a beautiful, ornate interior even though the outside is rather plain. The story of the bleeding picture and sacred rib needs to be understood to fully... More

Beautiful little church. Quite nice, especially when considering the church is in a small town, Cannobio, that is a little off the beaten track!

This was a very quite and peaceful chapel and lovely and cool in the very hot 39 degree weather. Lots of beautiful paintings all round the inside and dome.

We visited Chapel of Pieta having climbed a long flight of steps, but the climb was well worth while, A small chapel a church and outside stations of the cross were wonderful.

Chapel of Pieta is not a Baveno's church- this is faulty.. What there is in Baveno is the church of Santi Gervasio e Protasio (the photow of the trevellers are indeed of this church..) , which is a lovely church with nice fresvoes, a great octagonal baptistery and a very quiet yard- a lovely place. The church is described in... More

I have visited this beautiful church on many occasions. In the 1500s a painting of the pieta began to bleed tears. The Roman Catholic priest who eventually became a saint, Carlos Borromeo, ordered a church to be built on the site which was done. It has exquisite ceilings, stained glass windows over the alter and superb religious painting surrounding. Sit... More
