Ijen crater was better, but 4x4 was good fun, views of bromo from viewpoint were nice and then short walk up to the crater. Definitely don't need to get a horse to take you. We then headed to bondowoso ready to do ijen next day....More

It was a real fun experience to walk on the top of Mount Bromo and run down the sandy slope. You should try running down rather than walking back from the stairs.

Accommodation around Bromo is limited to mostly homestays and some hotels. We stayed at Nadia Hotel and it is very basic by any standards. Don't expect too much. If your group isn't very big, I suppose you can make... More
