Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This minority area is set among rivers, forests and tea plantations and is in the throes of a tourist upgrade, so has quite a few boardwalks, tea houses and a bunch of shows with Dong women doing a fair bit of costumed singing and dancing. This is all in a rural setting and the endless stacks of tall wooden, and now disguised concrete, buildings in this unique bustling set of laneways. Lots of interesting architecture, friendly people and a bunch of longer walks through the countryside give the area enough interest for a couple of days, or longer if relaxation in an exotic location is the brief. The taxi fare from Sanjiangnan fast train station is 100 quai and takes about 45 min depending on traffic flow through Sanjiang Town.

Nice collection of Dong bridges, drum towers and villages grouped together. Still not crowded by the masses gives a relaxed feeling. The kids took a dive in one of the rivers with the local kids and had a great time.

We spent two nights in Ma'an village within the area.
Superficially it is very 'rural China' but it wasn't until the day time that we discovered that beyond where we had entered there is a ticket pay desk. We also realised that one paddy rice field, wit a cow in it...the cow, swan, calf and water buffalo were all actually statues not real animals.
To some extent then it is China done as a theme park
Very pretty though, but getting rapidly over developed. Neuw building, guest houses going up everywhere

The hole area is a collection of drum towers and dong bridges.
In the morning you get greeted by the woman of town in traditional cloths.
Spend some time to walk true the several tiny villages and see the many old buildings.

A young tourist attraction, mostly locals visiting. Could not visit with a relax mind as donation/gratuity is expected whenever you visit a drum tower or cross a bridge even after paying quite a hefty entrance. For example, some Dong girls will block you with red cloth, sing a welcome song and pass you a rice wine at the wind-rain bridge. They will ask for some tips before letting you pass. Apart from that, it is a nice place to see the life of Dong minorities.
