Very good and would play again
Jan 2020
We played the Ria. Its not the very best but it is a very good test with many excellent holes, with the holes next to the ocean giving great views and fresh air. I would play again and try the other course which is reputed to be a bit tougher. Staff we wonderful. Its a bit of a quirky set up, nothing flashy and next door to the Robinson Hotel (can be confusing when you arrive down the little lane).

Both great courses. Great staff, especially a very helpful Paula on golf reception, nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to returning soon.

Lovely course, poor staff experience!
Sep 2019
After an initial problem with a female receptionist at the golf club we had a very enjoyable round on this interesting course. We ended up phoning our tour operator to prove that our buggy had been prepaid! This girl has a bad attitude and would not accept our email confirming the buggy payment nor did she offer to phone the tour operator herself! After it was confirmed we were made to wait until a second email was received and no apology was offered.

Great Hotel and Location
Jun 2019 • Family
As per the previous comments. This is a great hotel. I much prefer low rise to high rise and we managed to get a ground floor suite which had a garden view and two sun-loungers. The whole complex is beautiful, borganivillia and other such lovely shrubs growing everywhere, the landscaping is very good. The pool was too cold for us, so missed out on aqua aerobics each day, but others managed to get in. We stay at a Magic Life last year and they had a heated sports pool for such activities, this would have been one of the few things I would change. The beach is lovely, 6 seater golf carts run a half hourly shuttle down, or you could walk on the meandering path through the golf course. Otherwise it is a good 15-20 min walk. There is no shade on the beach and you can borrow a parasol from reception, but the wind makes that quite difficult. There are two big fridges in the main bar, so you can always help yourself to water bottles. Which. we always needed. The tables are communal. We were a party of 6, so easily got a table and sometimes would have some Germans join us, everyone was very friendly and if you make an effort to talk to people, you will have no problem. All the waiters were so friendly and conscientious. Entertainment was in the main theatre or around the poll or bar, it was cool in the evenings and they moved it inside for the dancing later on. Music was always very good. All the staff were so friendly and excellent. They all appeared to enjoy their job and were often moved around to different areas, for their experience and where they were needed. It was not unusual to see someone from reception one day, serving you pancakes the next, or dancing on the stage, I loved this aspect. We had no problems getting sun loungers, but it was getting busier as we left, so not sure about July/Aug. The hotel is wheelchair friendly for the most part but not gettign to the beach or the town. We went to Tavira one day, but there was a lot of building work going on and not much to see. We would definitely go back!

A well presented course for golfers of most abilities
Apr 2019 • Friends
I played this course last month and enjoyed the challenge shooting my best score of the week here. It can be a little breezy being as it is a coastal course but this means it is much greener than some of the inland courses in the locality. There are good practice facilities on which to warm up before your round. There excellent 19th hole facilities following your round.

Enjoyed both Golf Courses Cima and Ria
Jan 2019 • Friends
During our Winter Sun golf break to Portugal, we played both the Cima and Ria courses at Quinta da Ria twice and really enjoyed both courses. Great condition throughout with some stunning holes, particularly on Ria nearer the coastline. The Cima golf course had its challenges for us, again some great holes, but you pretty much had to treat the rough as OOB, impossible to find your ball, so keep clear..... Friendly staff, nice little clubhouse serving cold beer and chips (among other things). Perfect.

Easy flat course that caters to higher handicappers
Dec 2018 • Family
Fast greens flat undulating course with great views at some holes. Open yet can be deceiving at times as with Links style course the wind changes and affects the play strategy. Every hole is different yet provides their respective surprises. Many a time they are blind as meanders toward the green. Lost balls are common as the thick vegetation and overlapping fairways may consume/hide them. We teed off almost 1pm and didn't get back till after dark as the pace of play was slow and we had to wait for a few flights in front. Surprising thing was we saw 3 people in a buggy and 2 of the ladies sharing a set of golf clubs and the driver (a guy- probably the caddie) never got out of the buggy but kept holding on to his mug of beverage in the drivers seat. The Club should have night lighting for the last 2-3 holes so the latter flights can finish their 18-holes instead of rushing and like us continue in the dark then trying to find our way back to the Clubhouse. We rented golf clubs to play and they were of decent condition and very reasonable at EUR25.

Lovely enjoyable course for all handicaps
Nov 2018 • Friends
We played this in November and it was i fine condition, some lovely scenery and every hole is different, none boring. some well placed ponds and lakes but all visible and very fair. no need for buggies very easily walked. lovely meal in the club house after wards too, all very relaxed. Although it looked busy on the Saturday we played we got around in just over four hours with no hold ups.

Nice course but speed of play far to slow.
Nov 2018 • Couples
Second time I have played the course and unfortunately still the same story. Nice course but the game is just ruined by the pace of play. I'm pretty sure they don't insist on handicap certificates and allow any hacker on the course. Well over 4.5 hours for a round on a flat straight forward course is 1/2 hit too long. Not a marshal to be seen and players in front of us regularly taking 10 or more shots per hole and still putting everything out. The course was busy but there were also two hole gaps where certain groups even at this slow pace couldn't keep up with the match in front. The back in particular was just too hard for the hackers that were trying to play, some of them seemed unable to get the ball in the air. Real shame as the course is good.
