Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The boat was absolutely crammed. Not enough seating outside and don’t go on boat trips to sit inside with no view! Very disappointed.

Everything was well organised, the boat was extremely smooth and the staff were great. Safety information was clear, enough toilets, and they interacted well with people on board. Drinks were a decent price. We were kept informed about each stop and how long we had there. There were opportunities for swimming as well as visiting Ithaca’s main town and other places.

We did the last 2 cruises of the season. The staff were amazing, so friendly. The cruises themselves were incredible, we got to see so many amazing places in 2 days. We swam in the middle of the sea for the first time, saw beautiful sites, ate beautiful food. The crew sang happy birthday to my niece as it was her 25th birthday during the Sunday cruise. All around the best 2 days & I'm so pleased we booked them & got to experience such a magical experience.

Very well organised, we could not get on the boat at Skala due to the weather but transport was arranged to take us to Poros. Beautiful boat and nice and clean. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The reason I only gave 4 stars and not 5 was the trip to the Melissani lake trip which we paid extra for is not suitable for those with walking difficulties. The steps and the gradient to access it is steep. Unfortunately I did not know this until it was too late and we had started to walk down. This should be explained to people prior to selling tickets. There was also a gentleman who became completely stuck and unable to get out of the small boat on the lake. It took several people to pull him out. If the information is given it would have given me the opportunity to decide if it was right for me. At no point did anyone advise me or anyone else about the difficulties we could face. It definitely was not suitable and caused me much pain and distress. It was not explained when we bought the boat trip tickets prior to getting on the boat, prior to purchasing the ticket for the lake or at the lake where staff could clearly see me struggling.
However not to detract from the boat trip this was very good and has a reasonably priced bar on board.

A fabulous day with Captain Vangelis Cruises to Ithaka. First to Vathi and then on to Kioni for lunch. 2 swim stops. I can highly recommend this day on the boat.

We were lucky to go on a Capt. Vangellis boat trip today ! A great boat, with exceptional skipper and friendly crew. The boat is really quiet and fitted with the latest stabilising equipment to minimise roll. A really professional outfit who also want you to enjoy the day, Boat is well equipped with toilets and small bar. The trip we chose was from Skala, pick up in Poros, then on to a break ashore in the lovely Sami. Then onward to fabulous Fiskardo. This must be one of the prettiest Greek harbour villages and in late September wasn’t full of super yachts, so easy to get into one of the fabulous waterside restaurants. On the return leg, we had a swim stop at a beautiful beach for those who wanted - it felt like our own private cove. If you are considering a boat trip from Skala wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you go on one with the likeable Capt. Vangellis !

This boat trip certainly lived up to the previous reviews. We were lucky enough on our trip to see dolphins along side and following the boat. The dolphins were spotted twice when we outward bound and twice on the way back. Everything was well organised from the booking process, boarding and disembarking at the two towns and the swimming stops. The crew were professional and safety felt like it was a priority. We were fortunate enough to be seated with lovely people and this helped to make the day even more pleasant. Would recommend this trip if you are visiting Kefalonia.

Just returned from a boat trip to Ithaka, boat is beautiful and the destinations are wonderful, only one low point and that is the number of people on the boat itself, numbers appeared to be far too many which made the trip uncomfortable with seating arrangements as everyone appeared to be on top of one another.

Hi, is this trip appropriate for children (ages 4 and 8) who are not safe swimmers?
Are there life jackets available for them?
Thank you
Sam

There are life jackets available, however the trip is more suited to children aged thirteen and over. There were no younger children when we went. In my opinion, it's more of an adults and older teenagers type trip.

Hi , where did you book this trip from ? We are thinking of visiting Kefalonia soon and are probably going to stay in Skala . How do we book the trip to Fiskardo ?

For anyone reading this and staying in Katelios, there is a shop on the road away from the beach that does bookings. We arranged a pick-up outside the supermarket across from Mythos and our trip could not have been better organised.

Hello can you please tell me more about the Zante Cruise, did you get to swim at Shipwreck Bay and the blue caves and how many people were on the boat.
With thanks

About 100 on our trip (ie) there was plenty of room, it is a big boat.
We swam at Shipwreck Beach (although really it is not that good for swimming there), but not at the Blue Caves - too rough - and we actually did not even stop there.

Hi
We are booked to go on the boat trip to Fiscardo tomorrow and we are wondering where you get collected from or where the boat departs from?
Thanks

A bit late, sorry! We booked the trip in Skala and just opposite where we booked it is his boat, down on the seafront. His boat can be seen in the sea there and that’s where we waited to board.

Hi we will be staying at Katelois- do you pick up from here or do we have to get a taxi or bus ?
Many thanks

You need to get the coach in Skala near the supermarket or (like we did if you have hired a car) drive to Poros and get straight on the boat there.

Hi, i'm wondering if anybody can help me..
I'm intrigued by the Kefalonia Coast Cruise, however, i'm wondering how long the swimming stops are approximately/if you can get on the beach during these times for those who cannot swim? Thanks!

The stops last around 15 to 20 minutes and 1 stop you swim from the boat and 2nd stop is from the beach on the Fiskardo trip.

You need to contact captain vangellis website or call them. The trip departed from the beach at Skala, some history explained but not very detailed. Cost is 40e per person and it’s a complete day out departing 9am returning 5ish.
