About
This lively hippie market has been an enclave of creativity in Es Canar since 1973. Here, you can soak up the bohemian atmosphere, get a henna tattoo, and explore over 500 colorful stalls and tents. You'll see local artisans and artists showing off their handmade clothes, jewelry, cosmetics and antiques, and also food stalls selling local Iberian fare and wine. There are also live musical performances staged, featuring local and international musicians across genres. The kids will also love the children's play area, where they can get their faces painted and make flower crowns while the adults shop. The opening days and hours change throughout the year so remember to check before you head down. – Tripadvisor

If you are into this kind of stuff, go for it.
We were staying in Es Cana, so a ten-fifteen minute walk. Lots of people going there, so had some kind of expectation. Perhaps the title should have given it away, but if you aren't into the hippy life or New Age goods, give it a miss. It gave us our evening exercise but nothing else.

    Disappointed and expensive
We were staying near by, so decided to walk to the market. There were loads of stalls. But alot of it was the same sort of stuff. We thought it over priced. We didn't buy anything. It was also very crowded. Overall we were disappointed. And glad we hadn't paid to get there on a trip. Personally we wouldn't recommend it

    Just About Worth It
Echoing an older review, don't make a special trip particularly if on the other side of the island (San Antonio for example) but if you are in the area of Es Canar and Santa Eulalia then worth a couple of hours. There are two opening days: Wednesdays all day and then a Friday evening. The buses run along the main road outside, or the ferry that comes up from Santa Eulalia is a good choice as well. Lots of stalls and very very busy which may explain some of the low ratings - it can be off putting to be constantly jostling or avoiding people coming at you. Not sure how much of the stuff for sale is local produce - more like imports to my mind but it is interesting all the same. There are a few places to eat and a bar with live music. Average rating from me. Add to the list for a distracting couple of hours

    A large and varied market
We went to the market in the afternoon as it was a little cooler and hopefully, less busy. There was still a crowd there, but we were able to get around easily. The market was full of varied stalls - clothes, jewelry, glassware, perfume and many various hand made gifts. There was a lovely feel as we walked around, stopping to listen to a singer. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend this as an excursion.

Awesome market surrounded by stunning nature
What an amazing, fun and interesting place this is :) I have been there twice and each time it is really cool and one of the highlights. Especially if you do the day-boat trip, it's just so relaxing and yet exciting and all. Also the surrounding nature is just so beautiful and tranquil Punta Arabi is definitely recommended

Market stalls - amazing!!! Nido Restaurant - the staff are so rude! We were told you couldn’t reserve a table when we arrived early evening so when we went back later, we stood and waited for a table for 30 mins which was fine - however I asked if we could then have the table that was sat there empty to be then told it had been reserved! How when they don’t take reservations?!!!! We then went to the pizza bar next door to have similar rude treatment - such a shame it spoilt our evening. The shopping experience though is amazing and really nice people! We are both fluent in Spanish so there wasn’t a language barrier.

Impossible to walk with a walker as the surface is just loose stones. From the little we saw much of the items on sale were not made by local artisans

What a huge disappointment for us nd the hundreds that made the journey to see this market only to be found that it was closed on the very day it is supposed to be open! A total waste of time and no explanation as to why it was closed and when it would open again.
Best to call before making the trip…

Well worth the visit. Plenty of stalls and choice and prices quite reasonable. Go early to avoid the crowds.

A place that keeps anyone very interested as there are so many stalls to look at with all the different trinkets and clothes and leather goods, jewellery and so much more. All very well set out so that there is easy access to the different areas
