Gili Air Divers and Freedive Gili Air , is an SSI Scuba Diving and Freediving/Apnea facility located next to the Ama Lurra Resort on the paradise island of Gili Air next to Lombok and Bali. Our school offers complete scuba diving and free diving/Apnea training and fun dives. We offer to experienced divers and students the best scuba diving available in the Gilis. All SSI courses, discover scuba, open water course to profesional Divemaster level. Exhilarating diving all year round with turtles guaranteed on every dive, frog fishes, seahorses and beautiful aquatic life. Dive and Stay Packages. Special services for Photographers. Our Freediving department offers SSI Freediving courses Level 1 and 2 alike specific training for experienced freedivers and fun dives.

From an anxious swimmer to a certified open water diver - THANK YOU GILI AIR DIVERS

BEST DIVE CENTRE - amazing people, so knowledgeable, kind, fun and tailored to you.

15/10 recommend - especially for people a little unsure about swimming or diving. I had a bad experience at 12 caught in a rip, and cannot believe how relaxed and confident i now feel exploring the ocean. The instructors also understood when my partner had an anxious day with some of the skills we needed to do, meaning we had to take the day off. It was easily postponed, and the next day they changed the approach the next day so he felt comfortable.

We went for the first time last year and didn’t have time for certification, so came back this year for our open water course and some fun dives. The dives are smaller groups and you feel very taken care of.

I tried in another country earlier this year at a bigger dive centre… the choppy waves, strong current and instructors who were lovely but not as patient made everything a lot less relaxing and amazing.

Yayyy! I've done it. I finally completed my free diving course. I'm the longest running student in the history at this free diving school. Most students do it in 3-4 days, I spread it out over 6 weeks.

I love it as you have to learn to go into a meditative state and it's amazing when the diving reflex kicks in and the spleen starts working differently. Was a great challenge and boost for my nervous system.

I went down to 15 metres today, holding my breath for 1.5 minutes each time I dove down practising the techniques I had learnt. It felt so natural in the end. I had to "rescue' and bring up my free diving instructor Cass from the deep as part of the certification.
Cass was an amazing instructor, she was both encouraging and understanding, we laughed lots together and I loved hanging out the dive school. It has a really chilled good vibe there! The owner Bibi helped me with a very special request today, don't think many diving schools be so accommodating. Will do my level 2 free dive once back on Gili

Guys from GA Divers are great professionals and really kind people. We had 2 dives but usually there are at least 3 every day from which you can choose.

Excellent time freediving with Cass @ Gili Air Divers

Did our SSI Freediving Level 1 with Instructor Cass at Gili Air Divers. We had lots of fun learning as a team and excelling as a team. Cass was very passionate about freediving which translates into her teaching. It was very professional and information were delivered succinctly! Rental equipment was surprisingly great! Did not have issues with the mask and fins.

People at Gili Air Divers are very friendly :) Would recommend if you want to try/learn freediving.

PS: This place offers SCUBA diving and freediving. From the looks of it, they offer nitrox dives too!

Bibi and the team took us on our 3rd ever scuba dive. Harry and Ivan looked after us during our dive, were very informative, relaxed and pointed out different fish during the dive.

Great communication prior to the dive via WhatsApp. Would reccomend. Thank you! :-)

We did a fun dive to Turtle heaven with Gili Air Divers, and we absolutely loved it! The team was experienced, relaxed and friendly, and made sure to make the experience both fun and safe. I, as a recently licensed open water diver, felt completely safe with them

Well-Run Dive Shop

I booked a very last minute dive on Gili Air and contacted a handful of dive shops. Bibi from Gili Air Divers responded within minutes and I appreciated his prompt response so he had fighting chance to earn my business without any competition! He provided clear, thorough and helpful information about the dive shop and its policies so it was very easy for me to make an informed decision to work with him. He also was kind enough help me with some fast boat and lodging logistics.

The sho is bit of a walk from the harbor- its nat a negative, but you should be aware if you have a lot of equipment and luggage. You could hire the horse and buggy taxi as an option. I enjoyed the walk, as I got acquainted with some of the restaurants nearby that I ultimately ate it.

The dive shop property is quite big, well organized. I was assigned Didi as my divemaster who was friendly and had a good eye underwater. The instructor Harry was particularly friendly and we enjoyed talking during the surface interval. The rental gear that GID uses seems to be high quality and well ,maintained.

It was clear that all of the staff from Bibi on down, cared about my experience with the dive shop.

I had a wonderful time and wish them only the best.

Great First Dive

We did the one day introductory scuba dive course. Really glad we did, it was a brilliant experience and great fun. Our lead instructor was Alex and when we went for the dive (there was 2 couples) another instructor called Ivan came along.

Really enjoyed the experience and the dive itself was just magical.

Highlight of my whole trip to Indo (Intro freediving course)

I took the 6-hour introductory course for apnea/free diving course with Micka. The experience exceeded expectations. Micka is a talented and experienced teacher who communicated clearly and who was patient, thorough and encouraging. The first two hours of the course were spent in a classroom learning the theory of free diving; the next hour in the pool practicing; and then 2+ hours out on the water diving down to 10m along a rope and then down to 9m at another spot with turtles. The experience was so positive that I was high from it for days (maybe it was the lack of oxygen---haha). In seriousness, I was really impressed with how well the course was run and how professional Micka was. He also took pictures of our dives and emailed them to us. If I had had more time on Gili Air, I would have taken the certification course. Thank you, Micka!

Would not recommend

I would not recommend this school, I had a very poor experience recently completing my open water certificate. The Indonesian instructor Harry was inexperienced, unenthusiastic and lazy. I was made to feel dumb when I asked any questions or asked for him to repeat himself as his English was so poor.
I was also made to feel so uncomfortable by sleazy staff that I brought my boyfriend on the boat for the last 2 dives. Only when I almost walked out on my last dive, was I offered a different instructor mickael who was so experienced and shared his knowledge.
