Minneriya is renowned as a park in which to see elephant. We were lucky in seeing a large number around the open grassy shores of the eponymous lake. But beware! Do your local research before falling into the arms of the first jeep driver! The...More

It's nice to see elephants here, in natural habitat and not in "prison" but apart from elephants one can see very limited number of other species (not only for our trip, but generally that's what we have heard).

This was the most disappointing part of our Sri Lankan tour so far. Scores of jeeps kicking out fumes chasing the Elephant. No information given had no idea where we were going other than following other 4x4's .

Convoys of jeeps travel into the park in the search for wild elephants. Even though we were out of the gathering season, we saw several groups of elephants, including young babies, at very close range. It was fantastic.

We had pre-booked our safari and met the driver at 3pm. It was busy going into the park but the jeeps soon dispersed. We saw loads of elephants, peacocks and monkeys. At times we met up with other jeeps and there seemed to be a...More

This is one of three 'safaris' we did in Sri Lanka, and was by far the least enjoyable. It seems that there is little regard for the environment or the wildlife as a large number of vehicles thrash around a relatively small area. I had...More
