Elephants and a leopard!

Difficult seeing the indian elephants at first, but ended up seeing a whole family plus a leopard in a tree! Bumpy ride, but worth to see the beautiful nature of Sri Lanka.

I visited this park in april. its on of the few national parks in srilanka where you get to see elephants in a close distance. However except the elephants it's incredibly difficult to see other animals such as leopards and jackails since its a dense forest. At times it gets very interesting. Once one huge bull elephant got annoyed by... More

What a great experience. Managed to get up close to several of these majestic beasts in their natural environment. Beautiful to see.

Best place to sight elephants during monsoon and can do some bird watching..I recommend to do a safari early in the morning or late in the evening.

This is the place Elephants gather during the monsoon period and after that till the conditions are right so they can move to Minneriya and Kawdulla national park. Always advise your safari drivers not to go too close, you are seeing the largest land mammal in asia, so no need to go under their trunk and face the repercussion.

We were staying at Jet Wing Vil Uyana and organised this tour directly through the hotel. They charged us 11,000 LKR for transport ( the 4x4 came to pick us up from the hotel) and I think we paid 2,700 for entry (don't quote me on that as our driver went to pay for the tickets). We had a guide... More

It was our first safari on Sri Lanka and I was very excited to see elephants but... I felt very guilty after all as jeep drivers seem to not have any respect to animals and nature. One of them got too close to group of elephants with baby. Elephant's mother got really upset and started chasing all cars in the... More

Had a great time. Saw loads of elephant's and even a tortoise. This park is well placed for Habarana accomodation, only 15 minutes away and reasonable entrance fee.

We were recommended to go to this park on our safari as the elephants had been seen there recently however I believe this can change regularly so ask your tour guide. After a 4 hour jeep drive we must have seen at least 35 elephants and a whole range of birds. Well worth paying for a jeep safari in these... More
