Chandanwari is the point where Amarnath yatra starts. The glacier is around one kilometer away from the base point and it is must do. You would also find locals fishing by the river. The climb is easy to moderate.

I came to Pahalgam twice. First in the first week of December when there was less tourist and fresh snow. Again the last week of March it was still covered with snow with a little of sunshine.
