Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful church, inside and out. We stayed in Costa Blanca for a few months and visited the church during the week and on the weekend, when they have a service going on. It is located on a hill, off the highway when going to Calpe from Altea. The people, including the priests are the kindest and warm people. Everyone is welcome at any hour, however, I urge you to respect the place and not show up in sandals or shorts. There are scarves at the entrance for women, if you have bare shoulders and want to cover out of respect.
Some Sundays they have feasts and it's really nice to visit during that time. They sell food and play music and games. It's mostly attended by the Russians in the area, but many speak Spanish and English, including the wonderful priest.
I always left some money in the donation box.

The church is lovely. Everyone speaks Russian in it. It is a church at the end of the day where people come to pray not a sight seen as sort. If you want to get in to church you have to cover your feet and arms if wearing shorts or shirt, the covers are provided. Lovely place.

Definitely worth a visit, topped in blue, bells ringing and free to look around. Set at the top of the Beautiful old town of Altea. Surrounded by bars and restaurants and entertainers and market stalls. Plenty to do. Beware if you are not good at walking steep slopes though.

I have driven along the main road many times and the church was being built then it was halted for a long time. When I drove past I saw a brilliant gold dome shining so went for a look.It is absolutely beautiful now it has been completed.Unfortunately i was unable to go into it for a look as there were no staff there but the garden was open and it is very nicely landscaped.Worth a visit but take your camera for fab photos

This beautiful wooded Russian Church is an oasis of peace and tranquility. The gardens are lovely. Clean and tidy. Enjoyed watching a service which I did not understand though. Not a normal tourist attraction so do make the effort.

The Russians have been coming in increasingly numbers since the 1990s so it was not unexpected to find that a Russian orthodox church was built a few years ago in an excellent position off the busy N332 and at the base of the Altea Hills development where many wealthy Russians live. Built of wood in traditional style, the church is richly decorated. In the grounds a church school is also being built. Services only on Sundays but the church is open daily to visitors.

This beautiful church located just off the main road between Altea and Calpe is well worth a visit. We went there to listen to 4 priests singing in harmony without music and with the impressive interior of the church with the acoustics there it was unforgettable.
