Walk around town

We decided to get off the train here and take a look. The old historic part is lovely and about 10 minutes walk from the train.

The old part appears to be a walled city.

Not much to do but was worth breaking the journey for.

Cool setting. Many photo opportunities.

It was really nice to walk around the old centre. Not breathraking or stunning but genuinely nice. There are many angles, corners, and quirky houses and walls that catch the photographic eye.

Gorgeous walled town

Gorgeous walled and moated town whose cathedral contains Giorgione's Madonna. Very small & compact, you can easily see the main sights on foot.

Lively night scene

We spent time walking through the centro storico one evening prior to dinner. Castelfranco Veneto is a walled and moated town. It's pleasant to walk since most traffic routes around and significant parking is found outside the walls. We arrived late, after store and monument closings, so we didn't get the full scene, but we were struck by the happy level of cafe and restaurant life. The walls are nicely lit, and it's easy to find an impressive statue of the native painter Giorgione.
