Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We dropped in here on our bikes and were so pleasantly surprised by this slick operation.
You take the free tour using an audio/visual guide in your own language which takes 20/30 minutes. We found it fascinating seeing the thousands of bottles in the caves and then the production line process.
At the end you return to the shop to sample some wine. You won't be able to resist buying some; it's so delicious! We ended up purchasing 6 bottles of sparking wine (great value at around €7 per bottle) and had to return the following day to collect it!
Certainly a must-do stop for a cool 45 minutes near Amboise.

We walked in a took a quick look at the caves where wine was being stored. While my wife explored more of the caves, I tasted a couple of wines. The person pouring wasn’t interested in describing the wines I was tasting so I had no interest in buying any. This was a disappointing stop on our Loire Valley tour.

As fans of Crémant de Loire we wanted to taste and buy some sparkling wines whilst holidaying in the Loire Valley. We were recommended here by our hotel receptionist.

We’ve seen wine caves before so were more interested in the tasting than the tour but the staff seemed quite keen for us to see their set up so we went on the self-guided audio/video tour. In the event we were glad we did: it was very interesting and being self-guided we could go at our own pace.

After the tour we tried a number of sparkling whites and a couple of sparkling rosés and whilst they were all good wines we finally settled on the Montlouis Jardin Des Rois white and the Touraine Rosé Jardin Des Rois Brut and were pleased to find that there was a 5% discount on 4 cases.

Whilst they were sorting out our order we had a look round their shop area and found a good range of quite keenly priced terrines and pâtés and had some packaged in jute bags with bottles of wine to take back as presents.

We love Montlouis wine and find it difficult to get in England, when we can it's quite expensive, we were in the area on holiday so decided to try this place. Having seen many caves in the past all we required was a tasting and maybe a recommendation. There was only 1 member of staff there and he wasn't the slightest bit interested in approaching us, we asked for a tasting and subsequently bought 12 bottles but the wine sold itself, not the staff.

After reading the reviews of other visitors, it appears that our experience may not be representative of what this Cave is typically like. But, when we arrived we read the sign that said there was a Visio tour available in English, so I was surprised when I asked in my admittedly limited French for the English tour, I was told there was not one. When I specifically asked about the Visio tour, I was directed to an English speaking employee, who was charming. She gave us handsets and earphones and we were off on our self-guided tour, which was very informative and very well done. When we got back to the tasting room, we handed in our handsets and were ignored for the next 10 minutes. Even while standing at the tasting bar, no one approached us. Obviously I can't say anything about the quality of the wine, since we didn't have any. In fairness, my husband thinks this happened because there was a bus tour there at the same time. So my recommendation is, if you see a bus in the parking lot, keeping going.

We visited with children and wasn't expecting to stay longer that purchasing wine. However there was a great free self guided tour with audio/video for each one of us, which we all found interesting. We were able to do it at our own pace and was interesting to see the wine making process. At the end we were able to sample several of the wines and did not feel under any pressure to purchase any. Needless to say we did, which were good value, even getting a free glass. Definitely were a visit!

The place as the name speaks is in a natural cave of limestone. The place offers a free tour with audio/video guide on the different stages of wine processing.
Though on our day of vidit some sections were restricted, but we still had a great experience in their wine cellars.
The entire tour took us 30-40 minutes.
After the wine tour, you can visit their bar or reception desk to experience free wine tasting.
Lots of variety wines from white to red and sparkling wines up for tasting.
You can even get to purchase good quality aged wines for very cheap prices.
Definitely worth a visit.

Free tour, self guided with an audio / video guide. 2 million bottles are maturing in the tufa stone galleries. Working environment, interesting to see. Free tasting. Btw, regional products and sweet wines are also available. Great initiative of this co-operative.

We stopped off here as part of a bike ride from Amboise. They were fine with us only buying one bottle (a shame but all we could carry back).

The mini, self guided tour was worthwhile, despite initial mocking from my husband!

We were given a list of wines to choose from and could taste, I assume, as many as needed and chose a reasonably priced sparkling white which was delicious.

Not often you get anything for free but this audio tour was perfect in detail and length for us and our daughters (8&4). Lovely lady explained wine and gave tasters. Wine amazing!
