Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One cannot visit Sovana without a visit to the cathedral. This magnificent Romanesque structure is surprising in such a small remote Tuscan village.

Such an area of peace, with gregorian chants, really terrific experience altogether. At the very end of the only street in Sovana.

A cathedral in such a small village? Yes, because it is the birthplace of a pope. It isn't the most richly-decorated cathedral but is is historically significant. SOme interesting detail. Limited opening hours but well worth the effort.

This church is so simple inside and whilst you visit medieval music is playing quietly in the background. Outside you look over a valley with Tuscan cypresses. It has such a lovely feeling about it.
It is free to visit but there is a box for offerings.

A very special Romanesque cathedral with an accessible crypt. Well worth seeing - and off the international tourist track.

Beautiful but very simple mediveal church. The crypt under the church is quite small but its worth of visit and it is actually older than the other parts. They had 2€ fee which was ok. A must if you visit in Sovana!

Lovely old church, very simple and be sure to visit below the alter. If you find yourself in the area it is worth a visit and the small town is quite charming as well.

2 Euro admission per persn. Very interesting duomo at the far end of Sovana opposite the castle. Nice book shop on site. If you buy a book you get a 2E pp discount (i.e. your admission back).
