Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good start: Beautiful day, summertime, excellent weather conditions. After two hours trip to Ale Stenar, after some struggle to find parking, looking for a sandwich or similar - at lunchtime hours - in the neighbourhood turned out impossible.
Bad finish: Only able to find coffe &
cookie, my visiting friend from abroad asked to skip the sightseeing, and instead continue the roadtrip to our next destination.

Nice and relatively easy walk up to the stones. If you are fit you can climb down to the beach and experience the coastline from another perspective than that from the top.
Lots of people climbing the stones (even though forbidden) and show very little respect for this historical site.

Fantastic views at this great attraction. Beware that you need to walk app 1 KM uphill to get to the place. Parking is very limited, even in off-season. There are to parking lots, best choice is to choose the first one when you come into town. The second one - atb the sea - is very small and crowded. Highly recommended.

Interesting settlement. Take your time to read the posters next to the Stones, so that you fully understand the history. Nice sorroundings. It’s situated next to a cosy harbour with several restaurants, iceshops etc. At my visit everything was closed for the Winther, but I can imagine that the place is full of life in the Summer. Small parking place at the harbour and a large one in the village 600 meters from the Stones.

We walked to this impressive stone construction from historic times.
A great scenery combined with an outstanding view over the ocean made our stay very relaxing and with deep impressions.
If you are in the region then this is a must see!

Amazing place where you feel connected with history and nature. Beautiful scenery, you can walk for miles on a hiking trail with a spectacular view over the sea. And skylarks singing above... Amazing experience. If you love nature, this is the place.

Beautiful location on top of Kåseberga. The hike up is easy even with trolley. Big open field with no fences so keep an eye on the children. Cows roam the fields so don't step in their poo 😅

What a great place in Southern Sweden.
An impressive stone setting on top of a plateau about 1500 years old.
If you love mystic places, then this is a must!

This was definitely worth the trip out of Ystad. I wasn't sure we could arrange it because we didn't have a car (train travelers). But there's a regional bus there and back; check at the TI in Ystad for schedules and info - bus leaves from the train station.
We manages to see it without any tour bus groups. It's beautiful and remote, overlooking the Baltic. It's a nice, near-level walk from the bus stop to the stones.

Ale's Stones (or Ales stenar in Swedish) is a megalithic monument on the top of the hill overlooking Kåseberga and the sea. Drive down and park your car in the harbour. Then go into Ahls rökeri and buy some fantastic fish(smoked or pickled....) and bring it on your climb up the hill to Ale's stones.
It is a stone ship, oval in outline, with the stones at each end markedly larger than the rest. It is 67-metres long formed by 59 large boulders, weighing up to 1.8 tonnes each. The stories and dating of the ship is not quite clear... But this is an impressive stone ship and the views from the top of the hill is simply fantastic.

Hej Ralph, re: your comment that this feature would make a good scene for Wallander, if you can then watch Kuriren / The Courier where a drug mule on a motorbike rider comes to grief here.

do you guys know how to go there in november? do i need to book a bus at ystad station. Im coming from malmo by train.. im not realy understand how to go there from ystad station

The best way to go to Kåseberga and Ales Stenar is to rent a car. If you want to go by bus there is a special taxi that you have to call for at least two hours before. The No is + 46 771-774499 or from Sweden 0771-774499. This taxi goes at 12.02. The taxi stop will be where the buses stop at the same side as the train. Check for bus 392. To go home from Kåseberga there is a bus shelter in the village and the taxi goes from Kåseberga at 17.30. You must call for this with the same telephone number at least two hours before. There is not so much to do in the small village and it will be dark in November. There is a bistro and café in the harbor but this close at 15.00.
I don't recommend you to bike to Kåseberga because there is no special bike road for more than half of the way and the rest is dangerous to bike in November.
I recommend you to stay in Ystad. It's easy to walk in and it's a nice medieval city. In the monastery ( kloster) you can see a famous exhibition called " archemusica". This you can google.
In Ystad there are lots of places to eat or just stay for a coffee. Even in November you can feel that this is a tourist town. Don't forget to visit the old church in the city.
There is no taxi service during the weekends.
