This is a R.H.S. partner garden so saved ten pounds getting in. Lovely gardens, with lots of wild flower meadows. Interesting house and nice tea room.

We took a garden mad friend to visit Forde and she had a fantastic time. As did we all!! The gardens are very interesting, the fountain is spectacular and as for the house! Well it is a fascinating tour and has been presented as a most interesting collection of rooms, furniture, photos and exhibits. Unhesitatingly recommended.

We visited on a rainy afternoon but still managed to enjoy the beautiful gardens and fountain. We thought the interiors were interesting but were disappointed we couldn't see more. The scones were the best we had during our week in Dorset.

Really disappointed that the owners of Forde Abbey only consider those in wheelchairs disabled. No concessions offered for any other type of disability.

Visited on a Sunday and arrived before house and gardens opened. Visited shop and nursery. Bought 2 unusual ferns. Excellent nursery which contained plants I have never seen before

The gardens and gift shop make a lovely destination for a day out. The grounds are largely wheelchair and pushchair friendly. The restaurant/coffee shop serve light lunches and teas and coffees with cakes. There is also a plant sales area. Friendly and welcoming.

As members of the HHA, admission was free. They allow dogs in the grounds and cafe, but not in the abbey itself, which is perfectly reasonable. The gardens are well tended and the abbey has a nice plant centre attached. On our visit the tulips were in full blossom and we enjoyed seeing them very much. We walked to the... More

Visited with a coach party and thoroughly enjoyed the day. The grounds are extensive and very well presented - at this time of year the tulips still presented a wonderful show of colour. The Abbey appears to be in very good order for a building so old and the room guides were very knowledgeable and welcoming.
