Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kiilopää is run by Suomen Latu (The Finnish society for Outdoors activities), so it is perfect place to come and enjoy the Lapland wildlife and wild nature. It is right next to The UKK Nature Park, so location is excellent for hiking and Winter activities like skiing. They have Also The best smoke sauna and 'winter spa'= ice swimming place to enjoy after a great day Outdoors. The Vibe here is very down to earth, so easy to calm down after a hectic City Life

Great outdoors in the midnight sun. Suomen Latu is a perfect base for day hikes, runs and drives on the trails of Saariselkä. Nice service and prices for summer season. While leaving I was already asking myself: when next?

It is an about 1 h 20 min hike in total to and back from Kiilopää peak. An easy route with lots of places to sit down, catch your breath and enjoy the view. Amazing scenery from the top.

We did not stay at the fell center, took a taxi to get there around noon. The reception desk staff was super nice and helpful. They had a storage room for bags while we were doingcsports and sauna
We went to the sauna right around 3pm. Smoked sauna in the back, flanked by changing rooms for men and women. It was much nice between 3-4pm without many people, the ice pool area was very nice, orderly, and people were very friendly, screaming and laughing together
By the time we made it back to the reception to return towel and pick up bag, the line was really long
So the sauna and ice pool is definitely fun fun fun! But do get there early to rent the towel and buy ticket, dip into the pool early before the crowd come

Just went here for sauna and bath.
They have a great smoke sauna, also normal ones. But the thing that makes this a truly awesome experience is that you can take an ice bath right outside the saunas!
Which I did not!! The others that were with me did, all cred to them. And of course the Finnish, just went in and out of it over and over.
The only bad thing I can report from this place, is that it's very crowded, at least it was when we were there. The rooms to change clothes in are very tiny, and you have to sit almost on top of others. I also couldn't see anywhere to lock my belongings in. So you kinda have to trust everyone else to not steal.
They also do lots of other stuff here. Seems like cross country skiing here is great as the tracks start at hotel door. And they serve food and have rooms.
Would love to come here and stay some other time.

When in the area, it makes sense to walk to the top of the fell to get a view of the whole area. The view is probably as good, if not better than the view from the Saariselka ski resort.

I visited with group of 7 just for the Smoke Sauna and Ice pool plunge. I stayed at a different hotel, however, found this to be the most economic option for the MUST experience. I found it a bit crowded perhaps since they accommodate guests from outside just for the activity. Nonetheless the Ice pool plunge experience was unforgettable.

We didn't go up the Kiloopa Fell but instead tried the Toboggan Slope which is one of the longest in Europe.
It is located within walking distance from the Saariselka town, on the left hand side immediately after the round-about heading to the Ski Resort.
The slope has steep and gentle part, is wide and therefore ensure a rather safe run.
The toboggan can be rented for 5Euro at the Holiday Club or if you're lucky you can find some free ones stashed at the store of the cabins where you're staying.

We visited the Kiilopaa restaurant after a nice hike in the fells. It was not very busy time, so the place looked huge. But i can imagine how packed it is during the high season. We had to order and pay at the counter and the food was served to our table. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, where local reindeer was used in all different international dishes (shaslik, foccacia, fajitas, burgers etc).

We are staying at Kakenslautten(sp?) & cross county skied about 6 km to get here. Great cafeteria for lunch. We were tired so took the bus back- 5 euros. The trail system is amazing with lighted trails- too cold at night for us. Trails are rated for difficulty & go all amazing distances & terrain. We did a loop yesterday & will find a new trail tomorrow Really fun & well used by natives. Loved the whole set up.

Buenas tardes, somos una familia de Canarias que viajará a Kiilopaa en diciembre y nos gustaría saber si existe la posibilidad de alquilar ropa preparada para el frío porque sólo la utilizaremos la semana que estaremos alli.
Muchas gracias.
