After being in Ebenalp a must visit was Appenzell town. What a surprise was to found this church which from outside seemed to be closed and not attractive. It is located next to a cemetery. Both places shared a marvellous view. Expect not a big place but their frescoes, windows and altar made an impression on visitors. Lite a candle, make a prayer and sit for a while you will soon feel a calm feeling and will leave the place in peace - if you are a believer of course... …

When we travel we always visit churches and light candles to remember loved ones that have passed. This church was not so beautiful on the outside but when you step in, it was truly magnificent. The stain glass windows are works of art and the statues and artifacts were wonderful. Appenzell is a small town but the bells were special and will always be remembered as we reflect on our stay in this part of Switzerland.…

I only visited a few churches in Switzerland but of the ones I saw, this was the most beautiful and ornate. Very impressive for a small town.

A fabulous example with a super inside full of statues & paintings. Well worth the visit. Even though it was in use for a service we could experience the grandeur.
