This is along a sea front road and is a nice wee walk along the front to the tower. My grandfather used to being me here as a child so it was nice to show it to my own children now

Walk past the Chain Memorial Tower in the direction of the Larne Leisure Centre and follow the coastal path til you reach a green area on the embankment. This is Chaine Memorial Park. It is quite a steep walk to get up into the park from the water side. But once you reach the top it is worth it, as... More

We were at Chaine Tower, always an impressive sight, when the lady with me voted to see where the shoreline path to the north went to. We went around a few bends where the sea was lashing to one side, and tall impressive winter trees were silhouetted against the sky on the tall bank on the left. Signs were telling... More

Came here at the start of a walk. Had never spotted the tower before when sailing out of Larne. A lot of history to the tower and this was well explained via tourist information boards at different points.

I don't know why but kids just love this tower. You see it coming in from Scotland on boat and it is now an icon for Larne. I'd love to see inside!

The 'pencil' has been part of my life since primary school as we learnt about it and the Antrim Coast Road in History. Very impressive sight but don't think you can actually go inside. Car park close by and roadside parking too. Plenty of summer seats nearby to take in the view ☺

We took a lovely day evening walk along the coast. From the park the view of the Chaine Memorial is brilliant and we had the added bonus of watching the boat leave for Scotland.
