Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The church was beautifully situated on a mountain side. The dirt road on the way there ended up turning into a rocky ditch-ridden trail. I felt compelled to abandon my rental car and walk the remaining 2 km there. The church was small but beautiful from the outside. Really not much to see inside, although the sound of hundreds of buzzing bees was pretty intense. Not sure if it was worth risking the rental car and the 4 km round trip walk.

This church is located out in the middle of nowhere, with a few hiking trails going past it. It is very charming and different, literally a small church built into a cave, with a natural skylight illuminating the inside. Well worth the visit for anyone out hiking in the area!

The Cave Church in Protaras isn’t overly easy to find, but when you do it’s a spectacular find. Initially first impressions for the four of us that made the trip weren’t overly good but upon entering the church it’s a wow. Very well preserved and certainly something very different. Worth spending some time searching for it because once found it’s a memory which will stay with you for a long time.

This is a small Greek Orthodox church at the entrance of a cave very close to Protaras. If you have a car, I would suggest you use the WAZE app and it will get you there very easily. We have visited Protaras many times and never knew this place existed.

A beautiful church with a beautiful view. Especially being made from a cave, it is one of a kind.
Only negative was getting there, the road leading up to it was super rocky and we weren’t sure the car would make it so we had to leave it and walk for just under 20minutes in the scorching hot weather.
Overall a great experience.

What a beautiful little church. I'm not religious really but the feeling you get when you walk in is something I haven't experience before. The touching little alter and the time taken to.hide this church away is magnificent. Only takes 20 mins to see all and read through some things but well worth the visit. History at your feet...beautiful. You need transport to visit though.

We didn’t actually get to the church as the track was quite rough and we didn’t want to risk getting a puncture miles from anywhere. Great shame as we could see it in the distance and it looked interesting.

We tried to find this little gem 2019 but failed. So 2020 we were not leaving until we succeeded. OMG. Such a beautiful place. I got very emotional at the site of this little gem. It's well worth the walk
