As a family we had an absolutely amazing week diving with Scuba Tech! Without a doubt one of the best teams I've dived with. We were part of a group who had quite varied experience levels, from a couple of open water trainees through to experienced divers. Scuba Tech were able to accommodate the range with ease - the trainees passing their open water and achieving 4 post qualifying dives, the rest of us getting to dive the best diving that Cyprus has to offer. We felt safe, looked after and provided with exactly the dives that we were looking for. A fantastic week, fantastic company and amazing diving. Can't wait to come back again!

Don’t know how the last person gave a 1 star review,
This is a great dive centre Shelley and Pete are a great couple who work tirelessly to make everyone happy and try to accommodate every diver regardless of their skill levels, I’m not a tech diver , but my brother in law is and uses Pete and Shelley’s expertise for diving and serving of his kit.
This is a 5 star dive centre with 5 star staff, give them a try, You will come back to them next time.

Excellent dive experience, friendly and welcoming staff and couldn’t do enough to help and accommodate us.
I dived with a large group made up of 2 BSAC clubs and Shelley and Pete were brilliant managing the complexity of the group size. Becs and Ken were also great dive guides.
Fully recommend and will return.

I try to be fair with all my reviews and give feedback on good and bad (if any). My background is that I am a qualified Open Water Instructor, BSAC Advanced Diver, CCR Diver and a qualified Scuba Technician. My initial search for a dive centre in Protaras in Google listed a few options and the name of this one suggests that they accommodate ‘Technical Diving’. I made email contact enquiring about Technical Diving and Shelley answered my questions and offered a price. She wanted a 100Euro deposit to secure the three dives - one shore check dive and then two more (what I believed where going to be Technical Dives on the Zenobia on different days, at least that’s what my email asked for).
On arrival I visited the dive centre to arrange the date for the check dive as I we had agreed by email as I had also requested to dive the Zenobia Wreck on two separate days (3rd and 5th October). Peter met me and explained they were very busy and were getting so many enquiries he was finding it difficult to keep up. All good one would think?
Peter then started to check for my booking and this is when it started to go wrong. It would appear that Shelley hadn’t read my email correctly and had booked me to do all three dives the same day! Although, not as technical dives in which decompression would be required (approximately 15minutes longer to surface than normal). At this point Shelley returns and Pete leaves the office to obviously make her aware of the problem. Shelley enters the office with a look of ‘it’s not our problem’ on her face. Shelley refuses to accept any liability for any miscommunication that may or may not have happened or make any apology or recheck my emails to her. In the end I had to accept a refund of my deposit (which took over 48 hours to reach my credit card account) whereupon Shelley promptly left the office for myself and Peter to pick the pieces up. My partner thought Shelley was so rude that my partner excused herself and waited in the car. In short, not a great experience. It may be that Scuba Tech Cyprus have become victims of their own success (somehow I doubt it) but there is no excuse for poor customer service or rudeness. I don’t believe their business name reflects what they can offer either. The workshop area that they use to service scuba gear appeared as if a bomb had gone off, with tools and equipment literally everywhere.
I cannot comment on the actual dive safety or training they provide as I didn’t do any with them. Looking at some of their reviews I suspect many of the reviews are left by holiday divers with little to compare them with. However, I have dived for 19 years and in almost every corner of the world and yes there is good and bad everywhere. Maybe this was a one off, however I wasn’t willing to continue with the booking to find out.
I made enquiries with Dive Stop Dive Centre who are minutes away and had an opposite experience. In conclusion….
DON’T use Dive Tech Cyprus whilst hoping to do a Technical Dive.
However I would HIGHLY recommend DIVE STOP Cyprus….

Following a couple of recommendations on the Scuba Women fb page, I contacted Shelley and booked three days of diving. I received all the information and the price for my requirements, and agreed on the first date. Shelley picked me up from my hotel, and on our way, she answered all my questions. She brought me to the diving centre and introduced me to Bex, who was my dive guide. They both were very friendly, professional, and well organised.
Bex asked me about my diving preferences and offered me the first diving site, which really exceeded my expectations. I wanted to see a seahorse, and we saw not one but four of them.
I'm 72 yo and spoilt rotten by diving mainly from large boats. Therefore, I'm not very good at diving from the shore. The entry was a bit challenging, but Bex was very helpful, and I felt totally safe. At the end of the dive, she helped me to climb the rocky shelf and dived back to fetch my fin, which I had clumsily lost.
The second dive was amazing, too. There were some underwater sculptures and turtles. When my Go Pro got stuck, Bex lent me hers and also took pictures and videos of me with sculptures and the turtle.
My intro to diving in Cyprus was amazing. Bex was wonderful, helpful, friendly, and funny. Her vehicle was so tidy and well organised with all the equipment in place and spare kit items. She was also very mindful regarding safety and explained to me why she insisted on doing things in a particular way.
The second day was also amazing. Bex organised a boat for me, so I didn't need to swim from the shore to MUSAN, which is an underwater sculpture museum.
Finally, on my last diving day, I got to dive a famous wreck of M/S Zenobia from a big boat. Bex was leading the dive, and we were joined by another diver and Shelley, who took great pictures of us all. After diving, we were treated to a lovely lunch on board.
Courtesy of Shelley and Bex, I got really great pictures of myself from this diving trip.
I can not recommend highly enough this excellent diving centre, and I will definitely be back.

Did shore check dive in the beautiful Green Bay with Peter to refresh skills and check weight requirements which was good as was a bit rusty after 10 months since last dive then two Fantastic Nitrox dives with Shelly (Peter’s wife) on the famous Zenobia wreck off Larnaca.
Very safe and professional. Would very much recommend this dive centre to all levels of diver. As a PADI advanced OW and rescue diver I agree their insistence on a shallow shore check dive before going deep to the wreck is a very good safety measure and enjoyable - both Peter and Shelly were every patient and helped with my buoyancy and gas consumption- many thanks guys and see you next year.

I decided that this year, I would take on a new challenge. One that previously I was told wouldn't be possible because there's too much going on and a lot to think about! I've wanted to dive sidemount for years, but I never really thought it was possible. What started out as a DPV try dive turned into a full sidemount course.
As a disabled diver, your centre of gravity is slightly different, so after Peter suggested I give sidemount diving ago as the stability, balance and freedom to move in the water would improve. Fast forward a few days and I found myself starting a full sidemount course. To say I've learnt a lot about myself as a diver is an understatement. It's easy to see why Scuba Tech are the best at what they do!
Peter, Shelly and everyone involved truly did help me overcome, push and literally bulldoze through any boundaries I thought there were! I can't thank you all enough. Hopefully I'll see you all again soon.

When going to Cyprus i wanted to dive the Zenobia.
Scuba Tech Diving was the only center out of 4 i contacted, who wanted be to do a shore dive to check my skills.
I really appreciate that, even though I have +1500 dives, and am a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, i am 100% into safety over everything else.
I want on a shore dive with Shelley to Green Bay, and it was 100% totally professional, and a lovely dive, where i saw a seahorse for the second time ever. :-)
The next day i went on Zenobia together with Bex's, also totally professional, and funny. She is a VERY good diver and we had a great dive together with 2 other divers.
If I ever come back to Cyprus i will contact Scuba Tech again.

My friend and I were looking for a diving centre where we could really appreciate the time spent with the teacher. We could not wish better than Shelley brought to us! Amazing time with beautiful spots. We really felt like we progressed from a dive to another and this was very satisfying.
If you are looking for a great choice of teaching don't hesitate anymore.
A huge thank for your time and dedication Shelley !

We have chosen Scuba Tech Diving Centre based on the recommendation of a diving center on the other edge of the island, and oh, we couldn’t have had a more beautiful experience! Shelley and Bex are super sweet and concerned about safety, they made our first snorkeling experience seem easy and exciting. Bex is a very professional and a genuinely kind lady, she walked us through the tricks of free diving and explained everything before got in the water. During the experience, we explored the Green Bay Area, with marvelous fish life, turtles and beautiful underwater statues. It remains a lifelong memory, snorkeling so close to the colorful fishies and the stunning statues. This memory will always have a special place in our hearts, and we always happily watch back the videos that we have received of our experience. We would wholeheartedly recommend to enrich your stay in Cyprus with a diving or snorkeling experience with Scuba Tech 🤿. Great value for the price, very professional instruction and equipment, and an amazingly wonderful fun time in the water! ❤️

What are the costs of a weeks beginner course? What courses are available? Do I have to buy anything in UK before attending? Sorry for the questions being so generalised.

Hi Derek.
Thanks for the enquiry. Have you ever tried scuba diving before?
If not, I would suggest a Discover Scuba Diving experience, which is a half day adventure where you get a taster for diving. You learn a little about the equipment and make a dive to a maximum depth of 9m in a local bay here in Protaras.
If you know you like diving, you could look to getting certified by taking the Open Water Diver Course. This is a 4 day training course with some theory, some confined water skills training and a minimum of 4 open water dives.
There is the option to take the theory components before coming to Cyprus, so you can work through it at your own pace, in your own time, in the comfort of your own home. This also provides the benefit of allowing us to spend more time in the water, where it really matters.
The try dive costs €60 while the Open Water Course is €425. All equipment is provided by ourselves and is included in the course price. There are no hidden extras in resort. The above is the price you pay including certification fees.
You do have to be reasonably healthy to take diving courses though and I can send you a link to a medical form, which needs to be completed prior to diving with us.
The form asks a number of questions regarding your health and you must write “yes” or “no” next to each question.
In a perfect world, you would write no, as none of the medical conditions apply to you but, if you have to put yes, it doesn’t preclude you from diving but you must have a doctor’s signature authorising you to dive before we could take you
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to send the link in this answer (Tripadvisor Rules, I'm afraid) but if you send us an email, I can forward it through to you.
I hope that I have answered your questions but please feel free to send us an email for more information or if you would like to book any diving with us. You will also find all our contact details on the website
Kind regards
Peter and Shelley
