In my last pic you can get to know it's a 2km (approx) stiff road to climb to reach the fort... there is a way back where you can take your car to the top. Timing 10am to 5am. Amazing view and architecture all over. It 500 years old fort but very nice. Please visit

Beautiful like a pearl over a blue sea. Mesmerising view from outside. Walls of the fort were beautifully decorated with "Meenakaari" in blue yellow and green colours. You can see whole city from the fort. Light and sound show was good. Fort was even more beautiful at night in colourfull lights. You can have Mesmerising view of whole Gwalior city... More

This is an extraordinary site to see. Allow a morning to see it all at leisure. The remaining tiles are a treat to see and the interior stone work artfully carved.

This is one of the best "Forts" I have seen in India. It is well preserved and well-kept. Pay the 500 Rupees for a personal guide, it is well worth it. Our guide was very helpful and a fount of information about each room, and each King who has lived here. There are actually two attractions here, the main Fort... More

We visited the fort twice, once in the evening to see the light and sound show and again during the day. What a wonderful show it was and for the young and old, a captivating performance

Compared to other historical attractions that I've visited in India, Gwalior Fort was particularly disappointing. Other than the physical structure which is spread over a large area there is little to admire other than the view that it offers. There is a separate entry fee for each section of the Fort also. Inside were groups of languishing male youth giving... More

Definitely one of the best maintained forts in India and besides it has so much of history. We had a wonderful guide that made the stories come alive for us. Such a princely fort and what ramparts. What intricate designs...once upon a time when it was newly-built it must have been outstandingly beautiful... and to think all the semi-precious stones... More

Fort is big. Most of the parts were closed when we visited there. Within the fort you have to buy entry tickets for three palaces. Gurjari Rani ka Mahal is good. Johar kund etc are ok not much maintained.

Anyone can take personal or public transport upto the gate but after that there is no public transport to take inside the fort as this fort is situated on the mountains/ on very high hight.
