My wife and I visited the Man Singh Palace in Gwalior Fort whilst in Gwalior during a tour of northern India. It appeared that we were the only European visitors there that afternoon, which is a shame because the palace is quite unlike anything else we saw during our extensive tour of India and is definitely worth seeing. However, there... More

Do take a guide if you are visiting the fort. There is a list of approved guides above the booking window. There is a huge chance that you will get approached by other guides who have not yet been approved by MP tourism. Though the fort and surrounding buildings in the fort complex are under ASI, there are no ASI... More

The Gwalior Fort is a must-see for anyone visiting this part of the country. Mansingh Palace, Gujari Mahal, Saas-Bahu Temple, Suraj Kund, Gurudwara, The Scindia School, and so much more. Do not miss the Sound & Light Show. You could also take a ride on the cycles available on rent at the Mansingh Palace.

For our money, this was one of the most interesting forts we've seen, among many on our month long journey through India. Unusual blue and yellow paintings on the exterior walls give the fort a striking appearance. The guide was expensive compared to some other places at 470 rupees (this seems to be a set rate around that part of... More

Unmissable. The main reason for a tourist to go to Gwalior (along wth Rakesh Kumar Gouniyal's cuisine at the Usha Kiran Palace). So much to see; so evocative of the eras in which the various components were built.

Like many other places in India there are no singes or any guidance for the visitor. you have to higher a tour guide. the fort it self is dutiful from the in and the outside. if you are at the Gwalior do not miss it.

Not many people I know have been to the Gwalior fort. But all of those who did seemed to have found an excellent guide. With the right guide, Gwalior Fort is a story teller's delight. Filled with secret passageways, underground swimming pools and wood carving like stone columns, you could write a whole novel about this place. I loved every... More
