The castle of Koroni is one of the only castles that is still habitable. It's worth it if you like walking and you should take a bottle of water along. You will see the houses of local people inside of it as well as the...More

It makes a change to visit somewhere free of charge, plenty of fine views of the surrounding area, scaffolded barriers on exposed areas, small children should be not left unattended as there are some unsafe parts, there are information boards telling about the castles history.

Nice views from the top to Zaga beach and Messinian sea. Inside some traditional houses, church and a Monastery.

A brilliant place. A headland fortified by the Venetians with a monastery or convent inside, with a little Byzantine chapel. Wonderful views, no opening times or entrance charge. The only negative was a poor thin donkey tethered by the ankle looking decidedly unhappy.

Not much is left of this castle except a couple of gates and some of the walls. But it's worth the walk just for the views. Entrance is free.

We visited the Venetian era castle late in the afternoon and were amazed by the inhabited houses and friendly people within its walls. Beautiful walk up to the local cemetery.

There is a relatively new path skirting the castle from the town, which gives a perspective on the height and scale, and is worth doing. Parts of the walls have fallen relatively recently by the looks of it, and sadly I can't see there being...More
