A unique opportunity to experience beautiful New Zealand beaches in the company of adorable alpacas. All our alpacas are halter trained so you can safely walk down the beach leading your own alpaca. You can choose whether or not you want to venture into the shallow water. The alpacas will be happy to go into the water up to knee level, especially if it is a hot day.The beaches are quiet with magnificent views of distant islands and headlands. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about these gentle animals with their huge eyes and long eyelashes.

The alpaca beach walk is now only available to our farmstay guests. Please see our website for details.

This review is not about a beach walk but about the fantastic time we had staying in a rented property on the alpaca farm. Our hosts, Pav and Mark could not have done more for us. We had the opportunity to join Pav when she fed her alpacas and to learn so much from her about these wonderful animals. We... More

Just spent a lovely weekend at Kandiah. Hosts Pav and Mark are lovely chatty and very hospitable. The Alpacas are gorgeous. The accommodation is charming, super clean, and very nice. Really enjoyed our beach walk - such an amazing experience. Might insist this is my birthday present every year!

We were booked for a beach walk in winter and as the weather was very bad we went to the farm instead. It was fantastic we got to feed the Female Alpacas look at their babies and see the Alpaca boys and feed them too. Pav and Mark are natural hosts very lovely and friendly. We had a wonderful day... Fantastic walk with 4 alpacas along the beach. Our kids 12,11,and 6 loved it (and so did we). Time spent at the farm was fantastic too. Pav and Mark were wonderful hosts. So much more than just an overnight stay. They made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend a night (or two) at their place. The accommodation was beautiful.... More

It was a pleasure to have you all stay here. Glad the weather was favourable for the campers ! It was so nice to see the wonderful interaction between your 6 year old and the alpacas in the paddock. More

We've been with Pav's and Marc's Alpaka farmstay for 3 days to relax and have a little contact with these beautiful animals. And it was really fantastic. The flat was very luxurious, incredible silence at night, wonderful starlight and great meals with Pav and Marc. Last but not least: Marc can tell you a lot about steam cars and boats... More

We stayed at week - perfect. Not too far from Auckland in a really interesting area. Good price. Free wifi. Clean. Great bathroom and facilities. Off the beaten path. Alpacas pretty interesting - I helped feed them every day and got quite fond of them. Gorgeous beach at Uretiti. Interesting museum at Waipu. Left relaxed, clean clothes, tanned and ready... More

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, walking these special animals along a long and beautiful beach. The kids just loved it. Pav and Mark are the loveliest people and you can tell how much they care for their animals. We also stayed at their place for the night - accommodation and hospitality was exceptional. What a fantastic experience. Sure, you can visit a farm, or many zoo’s to see Alpaca’s, but there is nothing like the close up experience of walking Alpaca’s on a beautiful beach like Bream Bay in Waipu, Northland. We arranged to have three Alpaca’s to walk, and by walk, you actually take them yourself and lead them on a one... More

Pav and Mark were very quick to get back to me on email so we dropped in the next day. We spent 2 hours with them and their wonderful alpacas - feeding them, stroking the more willing ones and asking all manner of questions. A guided walk around their property followed - ask Mark about steam transportation also! We can't... More

We headed out with Pav today with three lovely alpacas in tow. We had been chided back home about spending money on such an experience but myself and my seven year old daughter absolutely loved it. Pav was kind and very alert about possible interruptions around us. Her love of the animals was completely apparent. We spent a wonderful hour... More
