I did the 3 Day Hollyford Track Guided Walk and it was 1 of the most amazing experiences I've ever done. I took my parents who are 64-66 years old and it was great for them too as barely any steep terrain on the walk. The lodges were so comfortable and the food was much more than I imagined. Decadent... Managed to include a trek (or tramp) into our 3 week trip around South Island. We're experienced walkers and wanted to experience one of the classic treks during our trip so the Hollyford Track ticked all the boxes. We were extremely lucky with the weather, enjoyed the company of the rest of the group, the guides were exceptional (Bard &... More

Kia ora Liz, Thank you for your review. We are so pleased that you were able to fit a Hollyford Trip into your busy 3 weeks around the South Island. Bard and Miki are amazing aren't they. You can't help be fully engaged when they are guiding you through the valley. You are right about this walk not being too... More

If you are looking to do something with your teenagers then this 3 day hike is it! We set off with a group of about 16 other walkers, all of moderate fitness levels. Ours was the only family in the group. My teenage boys(14 and 16) were out the front with our knowledgable guide Graham, whilst Cameron entertained my husband... More

Pouring rain, mud all over, wet up to the underwear. Nevertheless you could feel the magic power of nature. And rejoice. Great and passionate guide.

Spectacular and varied scenery. A lovely experience knowledgable and helpful guides. Rooms in the lodges are absolutely MINUTE accomodating two people in stacked bunks in a tiny room. I cannot understand why accomodation isn't improved, there is plenty of space to expand into. Food was lovely, the guide terrific. But standing in the rain, or sun or in a swarm... More
