The trip to the highest beach in England was never completed, we were met by a hoard of angry locals as we arrived in our range rover vogue from Nantwich with our 8 pugs in tow, the locals proceeded towards us in a civil war...More

So many people come here causing chaos. They block the roads and make it impossible for emergency vehicles. The beach is so small, it is over crowded with 20 people on it. There are no facilities there, no toilets, so guess where people go to...More

We walked up to the dam one Sunday whilst staying in Todmoden for a summer break. Lovely sunny day to enjoy the views. There is a small beach there with families enjoying themselves. Well worth a visit.

Small beach, on road parking, vehicles towed away. Try Hollingworth Lake instead. Or visit Todmorden

Amazing views. Great on a sunny day for kids and dog walkers. The hill is a bit of a killer but we'll worth the hike once you reach the top.

Long steep climb up the moorland, stout walking boots are advised and not when it's been raining. Beautiful scenery from the top and brilliant little place, especially on a day when it's warm enough to swim. Only downside is you have to park on the...More

Yes there are sheep all the way up. My dogs walk off lead but aren’t sheep chasers! They can go in the water once u are up there but it can get very busy with lots of other people/dogs.

I’d be wary of blue green algae. It’s also a long trek with heavy scuba gear as there are no access roads.
