What a disaster. I understand that the penguin parade is self funded with proceeds going to research and conservation however they oversell to the point that a relaxed, magical experience turns into chaos and frustration. We purchased penguin plus seats as it was near the boardwalk and a smaller more intimate area (and away from hoards of tour groups) so... More

Had family from North of Italy visiting and they asked to visit our Fairy Penguins. I bought tickets for the new RACV viewing platform and although more expensive it gave us excellent view of their arrival. No matter time of year, it was 30degrees during the day, the wind always blows in from the ocean so take a jacket and... More

A most memorable experience with an experienced and knowledgeable Ranger providing a small group of 10 with information about these amazing penguins, the environmental impacts and many fascinating facts about the colonies around the Island. The experience was a sunset and there were many excited people waiting to see the penguins up close and personal! As it was a busy... More

I went to watch the Penguin Parade which is done from a stand next to the ocean at dusk when the little penguins start to come out of the sea to head for their burroughs up on the grassy banks. It was raining hard and the rangers asked us not to take photographs because it blinds the penguins and hurts... More

This was a sunset experience and the penguins did not disappoint. They did make us wait a couple of times, but well worth it, they are just so very very cute! It's a shame some people on the night did not understand when asked repeatedly to not use camera's :(

I have lived in Melbourne a long time and this trip we decided to come see the penguins. I had never been so did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised after the visitor centre (pretty standard place, maybe I missed out on seeing the penguin movie). The board walk down allowed you to see a lot of... More

This was so overpriced and even if you wanted to pay more to get into a special area of only 300 people you couldn't unless you had booked months in advance. We took our two children 4 and 6. My family used to holiday here 30 yrs ago and everyone was able to see the penguins in the grandstand. Now... More

We paid $25 ticket extra for good position to see the penguins come out of the water by the hundreds and then waddle up the pathway to their own "homes" - would have helped to bring binoculars - but only at the beginning. As they walked up pathway you are so close to them could be walking along with them... More

Amy was our guide for a trip to Phillips Island and Churchill and Koala Reserve. It was a wonderful afternoon and evening. She gave us the history of the area and also told us more about the city of Melbourne. She gave us time to enjoy it all and made our day fun and rewarding!
