Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On Sunday the square was full of people and lively. It's quite long but not very wide. Nice buildingsaround. Many restaurants and cafes - no surprise here. Perfect place for a stroll and a meal. And after the meal you'll also find cafes serving famous dessert - tartufo di Pizzo.

This was our first stop when visiting a Pizzo. Great views of the water. Lots of restaurants and gelato places. Just sit back and people watch.
We went on a Sunday and arrived at the end of a big production at the Murat Castle that the Piazza surrounds, it was packed. As a result, parking and driving through the ancient streets was a challenge, but doable.
We came for the Tartufo Gelato and we were not disappointed, the best.
Pretty church on the north side of the Piazza, with two unexploded aerial bombs from WW2 in the back of the church.

Located above in the upper part of town this is a melting point in Pizzo for both, tourists and locals. It's a very cute little square with few restaurants, gelatos and cafes. A nice small church also. From the terrace there's a great view of Murat castle and the sea beyond.
During daytime heat pretty deserted, but full in the evenings.

Pizzo is a one of the nicest little cities in the middle of Calabrian western coast.
We stopped for few hours on the way to Capo Vaticano. You can find the parking in the old part of the city, the best is small parking at Castello Aragonese, just 100m from the main square, Piazza della Repubblica (pay the ticket as the have regular control). From the main square, you can take beautiful photos of Pizzo beach, there are lots of restaurants and ice cream shops have a nice meal and a Tartufo at the end. Pizzo is the place where Tartufo ice cream was born. They have many types, all are great, but the best was the Pistacchio. From the square, you can also have a nice walk through the narrow streets with lots of shops. We also did a city tour with »tuk-tuk«, the famous Piaggio Scooter. It cost 15€ per tour (cca 15 minutes), you go down to the beach and around the city back to the old town. It is nice and fun. If you want an English guidance ask for Giovanni (he drives blue scooter), he is very kind and speaks fluent English.

Pizzo is a nice little town and its central plaza boasts terrific views and has lots of restaurants. We have parked our car on a small municipal parking lot along the main street. The old town is small, takes no more than a couple of hours to cover it by foot.

The piazza provides a great seashore view, some really nice eateries and an opportunity to further climb this steep town.

In the centre of town everything that happens is here all night & day long. Lots of restaurants & ice cream shops & the view provides a great photo opportunity. (Selfies a must)

The place was very busy, although the summer season was over. Very nice cafes to sit, have something to drink and enjoy views of the sea.
