Went into this place for a hot drink and looking for some information to travel around the lake Toya. Met very nice staff and trying their best to find out answers of my questions ( were quite specific questions ). Most importantly they approached us in english so I could stop embarrassing myself with my horrible japanese !!!

This centre is made up of various shops. The supermarket opens quite early but the coffee shop does not open until 10am. Having said that, I have to give a special mention to this coffee shop as, even though they don't open till then, the lovely lady who was setting up for her day's trading made us coffee's at 8:45am... Good place to relax. The staff for the station was also very helpful n ensured that reservations are made for... More

AWAY from the concrete and noise of Toya Lake Onsen and the hotels - this is the original "town" of Toya lake. It's really a sleepy village. The Mizunoeki is an attractive wood-interior community/information center which contains a market of local veggies and fruits, a small cafe, shop, info counter with smart phone rechargers and outside a lovely lakeside walk.... This is a lovely little rest stop if you're cycling around the lake. I highly recommend the akashiso juice, it's delicious. If you're not sporty and don't have a car, you can take the bus from Toyako onsen bus terminal in the direction of Sapporo, and press the button before Mizunoeki (maybe also tell the bus driver you want to...
