Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While hiking through the forests of Pramanta we came across this beautiful quaint monastery. The monk is a shepherd with lots of goats, few dogs and two cats and several birds. He lives alone. The place is quiet and beautiful. We had a nice chat with the monk and he offered us home made goat cheese and fish from the river.

It's halfway from the village square to the views of the gorge. It's pretty amazing and so is the story (won't spoil it here).

The monastery is a nice 15 minutes walk from the Monondendri village square. There were literally no people when we went there, so really enjoyed the empty stone pathways with a thick green cover. The monastery itself is quite small, but offers amazing views of the Vikos Gorge, it also has a nice shop where you can buy hand painted icons blessed by the priest!

The monk Yiannis is doing great job there in restoring the outside of the monastery. It is few months hes been there, but you see that the monastery is coming back in life after some time now.The scenery is great, as the monastery is located in a fir forest and hiking route starts just outside its yard.

Not much to see of monastery itself, though impressive to know when it was built, in a tough location. Free to access. A 15-minute walk down from main square of town, well signed.
