When you are lucky and the sun is shining, please visit Laguna Amarga! The lake will be a mirror in which you can see the mountains (Torres) and that is so special!!

You can see guanacos on the short of the beach of this lake. It's on the way to the park entrance, so no real admissions fee to stop here. Peaks are visible from here on a good day. Not as pretty as Lago Sarmiento.

Most people drive right by this lake, but on a still day with no wind, the lake provides a mirror reflection of las Torres above. Flamingos also like to feed here on the brine shrimp and it's a good place for a picnic lunch.

This is an easy trek starting from Laguna Amarga ranger station. From there, the trail leads south through an area that local guides dubbed the “puma restaurant”. One could see gunacos skeletons along the trails. The highlight was probably a steep climb to a large...More

Not one of the most spectacular lakes in the parc but still worth a visit when passing by. Depending on your route I would not go out of my way for this one though.

Definitely you will see some flamingos. And you will see some Guanacos (although you will see tons of them in the national park but the scene that contains Guanacos and the lagoon was wonderful too me)

if you are in a photo safari, make sure to get there before the wind starts blowing. If you are walking by just enjoy!

Like all of the lakes we visited, each has a personality and the only common ground are the various views offered by each one. It seems each draws from the area whether it be color, fowl, flowers, or other wildlife. If you have the time...More

Torres del Paine is blessed with a number of beautiful lakes, each with clear blue water (on a sunny day) and with spectacular surroundings. Amarga fits in with the others. Getting there is certainly a big part of the enjoyment.
