I went out of my way to visit Vadstena (a lovely lakeside town!) and its castle. I arrived 20 minutes before the castle closed on 28 August. I'm afraid there wasn't a lot to see (3-4 rooms with some exhibition material) as the top floor...More

This beautifully restored castle is so interesting and is in a wonderful location. It has both a wall and wide moat, as well as a double-wall arrangement that allowed the defenders to move as needed in the "aisle" between the main castle wall and the...More

Not one of the most famous place to visit in Sweden, but definitely worth a visit, amazing castle surrounded by the water and perfectly preserved

Nice place to visit for a insight into a well kept castle. Still has some historical furniture etc inside. Cool.

It was good and the art work was neat. I wish there was more to see in side. There were large portions of the castle that we're virtually empty. But other than that it was neat to be in something that's older than America.

Very impressive castle in a very beautiful location. During the low season, you might not find it open!

Vadtsena Castle is particularly fun to visit for one of it's guided, evening tours (warning: you will need a Swedish friend to whisper-translate for you if you are not Swedish speaker). These group tours are satisfying creepy and a fun way to spend time on...More
