The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is beautiful. Just one amazing site after another. A short walk down from the parking lot brings you to a black pebble beach. You have to watch where you are walking as there are pieces from a shipwreck all over the area....More

Turnoff from route 574 to 572, lead to a car park. A short trail from car park lead to the beach. It was our 1st sight of a black beach with pebbles. Beautiful against the strong waves from the sea.

Spend at least one hour. Ten minutes walk from parking. Stone beach. Stones are very smooth. Rusted remains of old ship. Cool to photograph. Cool reflections in fresh water ponds. Awesome rock formations.

We walked between Djupalonssandur and Dritvik and back. It is a lovely walk and not that many people do it. The views at Dritvik are fantastic and it is very quite and beautiful.

This was a beautiful beach to stop by in the area and relax for a few minutes. The ship wreck remains are nothing to get excited about. Its just small debris and looks nothing like a ship wreck. The beach itself is a beautiful setting,...More

Great walks along the coast and down to Dritvik beach. Take your time to explore and you’ll find yourselves surrounded by less people. Walk along the beach. Sit for a while. Gorgeous location.

From the lifting stones to the scattered pieces of the British trawler Epine, this beach combines historic lore and magical scenery in a way that is quintessential Iceland.

Very good walking tour from Hellnar to Dritvik. Place on the end of the Lava field from the Snaefellsjökull. Impressive Stone buildings from basalt and blach sand beach.

This has it all. You can simply admire the dramatic coastal views, or choose to walk down a short path (through strange volcanic shaped rocks) to the black beach where the haunting wreckage of a British fishing vessel is scattered in rusty piles from 1948,...More

Very suggestive black sand beach and on the path to Dritvik you can watch some amazing cliffs. There were incredibly high waves when we were there and that made for an impressive display.
