Overview
More
The museum overlooks the "Sands of Speed" - the long beach famous for world land speed record attempts and motor bike racing. The museum is open between Good Friday (Easter) and the last Sunday in September. The main summer exhibit for July to September is usually 'Babs', the motor car raced by Parry-Thomas to the world record in 1926. However, please check in advance if Babs will be there at the time of your intended visit so as to avoid disappointment.

We travelled to Pendine Beach specially to visit the Museum of Speed and although it was interesting, I was slightly disappointed with the cost to enter the museum and it was a bit small! I understand it is normally free but there was a £2...More

Very interesting , really enjoyed watching the film on "Babs", and seeing her in the flesh. Would have liked to seen her being fired up. It's a place you must attend.

Luckily when we visited Baba was there, it cost us £2 to enter but I understand it's free if she is not there so a bargain and lovely to see her where so spent so long.

Of course its small as houses just one car and a couple of motorbikes. Babs was a land speed record breaker on the sands right outside. Great if you like motoring history and have time to look at the displays and watch the videos etc....More

Admittedly the museum is quite small, but it is dedicated to BABS! The story telling via video and signage was well done and the fact that you can actually see BABS is amazing, the drivers in those days were real pioneers. They have a couple...More
