Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were near Estival Park.
Lovely clear sea, fine sand, no stones. Remains shallow for a very long time.
On the left you have industry as a view. (Industrial port) so that's not so nice.
The beds at the first beach bar, in the bay, are cheaper, as are the cocktails.
Wide boulevard with many palm trees.
The usual tourist shops but also many restaurants, something for everyone. I would skip the Tagliatella restaurant chain.
For a good and cheap breakfast you can go to Supermercats Michelangelo.

Large, clean beach with easy access. Warm Mediterranean water and no waves, but it is a beach close to the port of Tarragona (container boats), and overcrowded in August. Parking is difficult, with parking meters and no alternative. There is only one supermarket on the avenue (good), the cafes and restaurants are expensive and Mallorcan style (noise, confusion and lots of young people celebrating).

Beautiful beach and promenade that is well maintained and exceptionally clean - several public toilets on the beach front that were very clean and d disabled facilities too. Many restaurants and bars too with the bars on the beach being very well priced too. Buses to Salou, Cambrils etc all stop on the front here. If you are looking for peace and quiet with a more relaxed pace this is the beach resort for you -

Great place to stay, the promenade is flat great for walking, beach is huge and clean, sea clear and shallow. Nice shops, restaurant's, Irish Bar and very reasonable supermarket. If you want to explore the area use the local buses, they are every 15mins. Go into the Plana travel shop on the front and purchase a bus card for your journeys, fantastic value for money. Visit the weekly market at Bonvista it’s the biggest in the area.

Great clean beach but the number of beach sellers is a joke its every 10 minutes someone comes along trying to sell anything from beach towels, football shirts, sunglasses hair extensions or offering a massage. Spoilt it for me.
You just say no thanks and they leave you alone but it's far too frequent

Reasonable beach with a poor selection of restaurant and shops. Sea was nice and clean and good for swimming. The beach cafes are a rip off. When did sunbeds become 30€ even if you hire them for part of a day?

There is no doubt La Pineda is a lovely area with a decent beach which is kept very well.
The positives
Lovely area
Peaceful to relax
Very accessible
Fantastic bus service to Salou, Tarragona, and Cambrils.
The negatives
I love peace and quiet, but we stayed in the area for 10 days (Golden Costa, great hotel, please see separate review), and it gets tedious. You definitely have to go and visit the other towns, especially Terragona and Cambrils.
There are no pubs/bars as such. They are all restaurants. Most of the places we ate in were OK, but I can't say I had an outstanding meal. They were OK. Wissler burgers are good, and La Casa Nostra is worth a visit with very good fresh pizza.
There is such an opening for a bar/sports bar type premises. It's definitely not an area for younger people
Overall, La Pinead is nice and worth a visit, but I don't think I would stay here again, and I would probably go to Tarragona or Cambrils

Really nice clean beach. Quite a gradual level for swimming and excellent depth for kiddies. Some nice shops/restaurants along the beach front. Rented a shade hut for 25 euro for the day. Water was lovely and warm. Very close to the Taragonna or Salou bus stops.

Imagine the view from Immingham across to Hull, but without the Humber Bridge and with a significantly better beach and weather ... and you're almost there. The view is predominantly a massive Gas Terminal and Port with tankers queuing across the horizon.
It's a typical Spanish strip - concrete, car parks, tat shops and mid-range restaurants. The Irish bar is a disaster simply waiting for the next day. The secret surprise is the restaurant between the Italian and the Irish.
Great for people watching. They come in all sizes and shapes and the great game is "Pick the Nationality". You'll never get the Brits wrong.
Top Tip: get on a bus and go to Cambrils.

Don’t bother in August
We drove around for 45 minutes looking for somewhere to park and nothing.
Yes it’s a long beach but every inch was covered by people
We expect busy in August but this was something else
Altafulla a thousand times nicer

Hay mucha gente ? Y es con cita o no ??
Written 31 July 2020

Are there any pools open to non-residents off season in La Pineda?
Written 6 October 2018
....You could probably just walk through reception at La Hacienda .. go downstairs .. pool on left through the bar cafe area.. don’t go laden with beach stuff
No charge for sunbeds ... nobody would check ...long as you buy some drinks at the bar . Off season .. probably glad of the business ! Pool opens at 09.30 ..
