Rize and its Firtina River are a great attraction to adventure seekers, mainly rafting and trekking. Me, I only visited some of the 20 arched stone-bridges dating back to Ottoman times. I particularly liked the oldest one, Senyuva Bridge that was built late 17th century. All bridges have remarkably high arches ; this would indicate that the Firtina can rise substantially during the rainy season.
The combination of beautiful nature, green valley and historic bridges, makes for some great photography.

An excellent place for Rafting with family during summer. Travel along the Firtina river and you will find number of clubs offering Rafting services. If you have kids they can take you to a relatively easy patch. We enjoyed a lot and kids had wonderful time. It costed me 50 TL per person during August 2015. Its almost an hour trip and in the end you have the opportunity to swim in the river. Recommended for all those who are looking for a fun with kids.

Fırtına or Peruma is one of the main water streams of Rize Province in the eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey. Its name is Turkish for "storm water". There is a group of more than 20 well-preserved Ottoman-era bridges over the Fırtına Deresi.
Many old tombs dated over 100-200 years in this area. A great spot to take photos for the bridge with a musical sounds of water.

A natural beauty. Scenic in any sense. Just sit and watch the green all over around you. Inhale the fresh air and do not exhale it, keep it inside as long as you can. It worths.

I've visited the stream twice for rafting. We had rafting in the middle of the stream before. Later they moved the rafting side close to the end of the stream with less challenges. I think the first experience was better. It's a good stopover before visiting the Ayder plateau or Zil castle. It is recomended to wear proper outfit for rafting and don't mind to get wet. Also it's more fun to visit and having rafting together with friends and colleagues up to 8 people in one boat

Ayder is a beautiful place with very kind and lovely people. The nature will absolutely take your breath away. There is so much to see and explore and day tours are cheap (50tl, for a 7-8 hours tour of 5 different and famous places of the region). I must add that our host organized our tour for us. We didn't stay at this particular place, but next door and it an absolute joy!
It definitely is once a life time experience that no one should miss!
