Bunyonyi doesn't have much going for it, compared to other parts of Uganda. The countryside around it is devastated by deforestation and over-farming, the claims that it is one of the world's deepest lakes are extremely dubious, and the visits to the Twa villages around...More

I have been to Lake Bunyonyi before but Seeds of Hope was an unbelievable new find. This is a relatively new resort but one that gives back to the surrounding community. Some of the other resorts have a constant flow of guests arriving & departing...More

Really beautiful area and a nice break in the middle of the safari. Still managed to have an active time with a treetops safari and ziplining.

We stayed for 4 nights, and it was easily the most beautiful place in Uganda, well worth the 8 hour journey from Kampala. We stayed at Byoona Amagara, and would highly recommend to others

A trip across the lake gave the opportunity to see local villages and a very colourful market culminating in a climb up the hill to visit the Pygmy village. A great experience with fantastic scenery illustrating what a beautiful place Uganda is.

Finally we decided to stay here one night in my trip around Uganda and was a perfect decision. The lake is paceful, very nice and you can swim! The perfect place in Uganda to rest a couple of days.

At least that is what we were told on our morning boat trip around the lake. Regardless of it's depth, Lake Bunyonyi should be on your list of things to see and do if you are in the neighborhood for a safari or gorilla trekking...More
