I’ve dived with Juanra and EspÃritu de Buceo for a number of years. This year I booked 10 dives over 5 days. Unfortunately due to changing weather it wasn’t safe to do the final dive (9 out of 10 completed). Juanra always offers safe and relaxed diving and goes out of his way to showcase new sites. I’ve become less mobile on land in the last couple of years and Juanra is always willing to help getting me in to the sea (or boat).
Juanra never over promises and this year I’ve experienced dolphins and a turtle plus two wrecks. Awesome . Espiritu de Buceo is highly recommended.

Juan Ramon, from Espiritu de Buceo, is an exceptional instructor. Well, I have dived in Tenerife in different places and with different centers. Well, without a doubt, Espiritu de Buceo was my best experience.

My son and I have just returned from our holiday in Tenerife.
During our stay on the island, I booked myself in for a number of guided dives with Espiritu de Buceo, while my 14-year-old son did his PADI Advanced Open Water certification with them.
On booking, you have the choice of selecting shore dives or boat dives.
I instinctively chose boat dives, but in hindsight, I should have chosen a mix of the two.
Espiritu partner up with another dive centre for boat dives, which means an early start to take a 30-minute transit to another town. Their buddy company, Dive Tenerife, is a friendly place with helpful staff. They took us out on a speedboat to the various diving locations, while we were guided and instructed by Espiritu's own instructor, Fernando.
The chosen dive sites gave us access to rich wildlife, breathtaking underwater volcanic rock formations, crystal clear visibility, a small wreck and huge roughtail stingrays that seemed as interested in us as we were of them (Please note, this dive centre doesn't feed wildlife to bring it in, which is a good thing!). With my son being just on the 'Junior' side of his Advanced Open Water training, this was all at a maximum depth of 21m.
Fernando is an excellent dive guide and instructor - he's very clear, calm and relaxed without ever appearing laid back. He's in control of the dives, but nothing ever seems to be a problem.
We had six amazing boat dives with Fernando.
Our final dive was a night dive (my first - I was muy nervous!). This one was a shore dive led by Espiritu's boss, Juan. Again, everything was well organised and Juan was in full control of the dive throughout. The shore dive in the dark was a fantastic experience - we encountered another huge stingray, hunting this time. My nerves at doing my first night dive evaporated as soon as I was in the water. I don't think my son was ever phased at all by the idea. having seen (and heard!!) the rich life on this dive, I returned home wishing I'd also done the same shore dive during the day - some of the other divers we met had, and they raved about it.
In between dives, Fernando kindly washed and dried my scuba kit along with the centre's rental gear, so I wouldn't have to do it in my hotel room each night and then lug it back to the centre for each morning's excursions. Juan gave me some invaluable tips on the use of my regulators prior to the night dive which made a great difference to my diving experience that night.
I can't fault my experience with Espiritu de Buceo. I'm actually keen to return to Puerto de Santiago just to do more dives with them in the sites I didn't get to see.

We booked two dives with Espirito de Buceo. There was a misunderstanding on our part that we would be able to do both dives on the Saturday afternoon, but Juan accommodated us regardless and planned for us to do both dives.
The service from everyone in the dive centre was great and the equipment was very good. We set off for our dive and the first 90% of it was great, but close to the end my partner developed problems with his ears and was unable to equalise meaning he had to surface early and we could not complete the second dive. Juan was very generous and refunded us this cost.
Overall we were very impressed and would love to return in future.

We had a great time with Juan and his team at Espiritu De Buceo Dive Centre. Juan put together a fantastic and safe experience for our family of two adults and three children to enjoy scuba diving under the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience program. The dive shop offered great facilities and the equipment used was of high quality. We would definitely return to dive with Espiritu De Buceo when we are next in Tenerife and are happy to recommend them to others wanting the same experience.

Great diving school who gave us a very safe and exciting experience. We had one to one diving with some very knowledgeable divers who were genuinely interested in us having a good time and not just after our money.
We did two days diving after only wanting to do one.

I have been to a number of dive centres around the world and I must say this was the most organised and safest that I have experienced. Equipment is clean, modern and top quality.
Choice of sites was matched well to my ability (I have dived a lot but not to a high technical standard or great depth). Variety of fish life was amazing - including Giant Rays (wow).
Value for money was excellent. My expectations were fully met and I will definitely return.

it was December and the sea was pretty rough so I wasn't expecting anything too great, however Juan Ramon and Emilie really did me proud. I was the only customer so it's good that they are so welcoming and friendly (and their English so good). Professional prep, safety minded and careful but as JR says 'it has to be fun' and it was. Saw my first turtle as well as a plethora of other sea life. Nearly an hour's dive was great value, their kit was nearly all new and the facilities were top notch. I would definitely recommend diving with this team.

I can,t believe I have waited until I am in my 50s before I tried scuba diving. It was one of my best experiences ever, made all the better by the expertise and knowledge of the instructors. I spent a week in Tenerife in October with my 13 year old son who joined me on the lesson which was fantastic, the instructors were very patient and worked with us one to one which was great we did the theory in the classroom then went for the lesson in the bay at Alcala it was brilliant, so much to see in such a small area it was amazing numerous types of fish and varying under water sea scapes. I can not recommend it enough and have now got the bug with my son to add more lessons in the future and if ever back in Tenerife I will be heading straight for the Espiritu De Buceo Padi 5 Star Diving centre............so why don,t you .......you will not be dissapointed

It was my first time diving and I took my kids with me which are 10 and 15 years old. The instructors are nice and patient and very professional. We all loved it and overall this was great fun and very educational at the same time. We will definitely go again next time we are in Tenerife.

If you contact the dive centre direct they will do everything to help and advise,they may organise a family snorkelling event to suit your retirements, you could ask about a try dive, which they may be able to run while your youngest did some snorkelling, they are a well run and very freindly centre, I can highly recommend this dive centre
