About
Greece's unique Bee Museum was established in 2004 in Rhodes and quickly became one of the best in the world. It aims to present the tradition of Beekeeping in Greece as well as the marvelous world of Bees. When someone arrives at the Bee Museum we offer him Melekouni, the traditional sweet of Rhodes. Among other things, our visitors get the chance to watch bees producing honey in real time, get in touch with all of the bees' products, have fun playing interactive games and buy traditional products and sweet souvenirs.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

There’s quite a bit of written information about bees but it needed something extra just to liven up the museum. Fascinating stuff nonetheless. Plus you get a free taste of local honey products at the end.

A series of boards telling the history of beekeeping on the island, plus some basic biology of bees. There are a couple of display hives but they were pretty much empty. Allow an hour at most here.

It is a great place. Very informative, interactive, surprising, cheap to enter (€4 adult, 2.50 senior), nice gift shop. We were able to sample some free traditional dessert and honey liquor. Highly recommended, very close to Rhodes Town

It was nice. A small museum (after 15 min you will finish the tour). There a nice shop of honey and sesame things.

If you love bees this is the place to go. we came on a rainy day and there wasn't anyone else there. It was very interesting to learn about the bees lifecycle and to watch the bees in the hives.

The museum is not very big, but it is super interesting. You can learn a lot about the history of beekeeping, the importance of bees in general, and about why honey is so good for us.
The pricing is more than fair (4 € per adult), and the shop has some very tasty honeys on offer. Also honey liquor (yummy!), soap and other products, which are all priced fair. We had a lot of fun there, and want to recommend it to everyone visiting Rhodes.

We really enjoyed our time here and we’re pleased we’d heard about it. It’s not difficult to find, and there are signs pointing out the location.
The venue is modern and fresh, with plenty of parking.
The museum is small but has so much information on bees and beekeeping, both Greek and international.
There’s lots to see and do, with plenty of interactive areas for children.
We were surprised to find the shop reasonably priced and well stocked with lots of honey related gifts.
£4 per adult. Kids under 12 free. Bargain.
There is a play area outside.

I doubt it. We hired a car for a few days. The bee museum is well worth a visit but it's in the middle of nowhere!
